Quick question- if a 40 round MP7 mag is properly filled with gas, is there enough gas left after emptying the magazine to allow the user to simply reload it with BBs ONLY on the field- and use the same leftover gas for a second full load of BBs?

I hope I phrased that in a way that makes sense. Here's another attempt-

1)Load mag with gas and 40 BBs
2)Shoot moag until all BBs are shot
3)Refil mag with BBs, but no extra gas
4)Profit? :) Just kidding
5)Is there enough gas left to shoot the next 40BBs I just reloaded..?

Thanks guys!

Hi revenantdsm, welcome to the forums! Good question. On a warm day I was usually able to get about 2.5 mags worth of bbs, meaning on a single full gas charge I was able to shoot all 40 rounds, reload the magazine, shoot those 40 rounds, and then reload the mag and shoot about 20 rounds. All without recharging with gas. Ambient temperature and the amount of gas in your green gas can will affect how "gas efficient" your gbb guns run.

Ah, I should have thought of the gas pressure laws vs temp issue! :) Thank you sir. I guess experimentation will come next, good point- and I wanted to ask in case it wasn't even worth trying out. :)

How long should the MP7 40rnd mags be filled?  Should it be done all at once or in short spirts of 5 seconds or so?

20-30 seconds until you no longer hear gas.  I do short bursts but following the directions on the can would be a smart idea.

I'm not sure the gas capacity of MP7 magazine but I determined that a full fill of a LM4 magazine was 1.3oz at about 70F. I can get at least 80 rounds out of one gas fill.  Maybe 100.

There are ways to get more gas (actually liquid) into the magazine.

If it helps as a data point, I filled a mag today and got 2 full 40 round BBs worth of firing. Filled it for perhaps 10-15 secs, vertical (Green Gas bottle on top of mag, pointing down into mag).

Outside temp= 68-70 degrees F
