Not sure what's causing it.
It will only fire once in semi. You have to switch back to full auto(firing or not) or safety and back to semi to fire a shot in semi.
Don't think it's gearbox lockup. We can most likely rule that out. Doesn't matter what battery, 7.4 lipo, 9.6v nim

Full works fine. It
I don't have to fire the gun to reset it, this is how I know it's not gearbox lockup. It only resets when you switch it to full auto, safety.

What do you guys think? Hoping not to have to open the gun.

Sounds like the cutoff lever needs replacing. And also check the spring that sits between your selector plate and cutoff lever to see if its damaged or missing.

The fire selector cam may be off?  The Selector plate may be worn...How old is the gun?

I checked the spring is there.
I wonder what could be wrong with the cutoff lever? The plate is fine with it's spring.

Silly question, is it just that the trigger is not resetting itself to the fire position when on semi? On my CQB G36, full auto works fine; however, when on semi the trigger doesn't reset itself. As a result I have to push the trigger forward with my trigger finger after each shot to reset it. To date I have still not been able to figure out what the cause could be (trigger spring is installed correctly).

Ill try that when i get home. Maybe something missing? Sounds odd, i dont mind too much but id rather have a working semi. Although, i can live without it. Ill teat it when i get home and push ot forward.

I don't know, I am not opening the gun again. It was a pain to close. I'll just fire in full auto and give up my semi. I can't push the trigger forward it wont go any further forward.

It has always been my experience that anytime a trigger doesn't reset itself in semi after reassembly it's the trigger spring that was not installed correctly.  Mine sometimes falls out of that little hole on the GB that holds the spring in place. But who knows? :)

The thing is I can't reset mine.
I can't push it forward. It feels fine honestly. It's just when it's in semi it will only fire one shot until i click to either safe/auto and back then it will fire another on semi.

I'll check if the trigger spring is out. It retracts fines trigger feels normal.

Perhaps the cutoff leaver spring that the selector plate moves back and fourth has become weak, or maybe the leaver needs some grease. I have heard of people replacing these springs with springs from retractable ball point pens. Or perhaps stretch yours a bit to make it stronger?????

Also if you find the selector leaver is not moving like butter, and you open your gear box, unscrew it and sand the side of the leaver where it contacts the GB shell. This will let it move freely with the screw tightened down. Don't just loosen the screw or the leaver will come lose and the screw will reek havoc with your gears.
