How do you get stars and how do you go from " enthusiast" to " guru"?

In order to receive more stars, someone must go to your profile and give you a rating out of five stars. There is a system to balance out your rating out of five stars, depending on how many stars you were given, by x amount of people, and it will balance it out. So, for example, if someone gives you 5 stars, and then another person gives you 1 star, your rating will then become 3 stars.

In order to get to member title "guru" you must have posted 1000 times. That doesn't give you the opportunity to spam the forums until you receive guru title. Try to make your posts as helpful as possible and achieve 1000 posts honorably. Before guru, you have to go through specialist, so I'd say you have a long way to go... :)

I make a bunch of posts... lol So does one star mean bad or something, like a product got 1 out of 5 stars?

And what do you mean by ' spam'?

There's no harm in making posts, but make sure you're not just posting a single word or spamming (flooding the boards with posts) to try to raise your post count to change your title. And having one star doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing. My friends and I on the forum rate each other 1 star just to annoy each other... lol But having 1 star doesn't mean you're a bad person or anything. If someone answered your question, you'd probably want to go to their page and rate them on how well they've answered your questions...

lol Don't feel like what I've said has to resist you of asking questions/ posting what you want. This is a technical forum for asking questions and getting answers. Sorry if what I said made you think otherwise. Post *diligently* away! ;)

Actually, it's 1006 posts if memory serves.  1000-1005 gets Post Whore.....it's a right of passage.  That's unless Allizard has changed that designation.  Posts to the General Chat portion do not count as they are rarely tech related.

Nope, not at all. That white strip shows up under everyone's name, when they are on their own accounts. If you do do something bad and get warned, it would probably turn into another color and if you click it, it gives you a reason why you were warned... If there's nothing, you're in the clear! ;)

Shouldn't the ones with over 4K posts be able to assign their own title other than guru?  LOL
