You guys might know the answer to this but would it be remotely possible in your expert oppinions to take say a RS Magpul E-MAG and convert it to a Shell that could contain the innards of the LM4 Pmag?

That is to say if you could even find an emag lol

Not without extensive modifications. The LM4 p-mag shell has an integrated floor plate that has holes for shell to attach to the internals. Since there is no bottom on a RS p-mag (or e-mag, I would assume), you would need to fab and attach one some how. Also, I have no clue if the dimensions would be the same. If you could figure out both of those things, the only other mods would be to chop the top of the e-mag off to allow for the LM4 feed lips and cut a slot for the release valve. Those would be fairly easy.

Hmm the floor plate could present a problem, but if i can get my hands on an emag, i'll give it a whirl.

I think its possible, but I see it being a bitch haha. I know another guy put a WA mag into a PMAG and it took him a couple hours of work.

Akira- Do you have a link? I'm interested to see this mod. From what I have seen there are certain brands of magna system (WA) magazines that drop into shells pretty easily. Unfortunately LM4 mags aren't built that way. We would have a lot more options if the internals and shell attached at the top.

Oops that was a WE mag, not sure if there's a thread but that JEDI guy on YouTube did it.

I will hunt around. For now I think it would require a lot of work and skill to do the mod. Maybe a simpler option is to sand down the grooves off a LM4 pmag.

LOL good luck finding 30rd mags in this political atmosphere! Anyways, you could reuse the floorplate from the LM4 PMAG to simplify things...

I just realized that we've been so focused on this floorplate that we forgotten to account for the fact that the LM4 mags were modified to be ATF compliant... My AR mags don't fit at all into my LM4. So how would you modify the emag to fit?

Could probably shave the front portions of the magazine to have the slots like the LM4 mags.

Anyone know if the pmag feed lip screws are the same as the usgi feed lip short screw? One of mine has a stripped head and I didn't see a replacement listed on the proshop.

I'm sure that if you called them they could hook you up with the right one...
