I'm at a game right now and first round I trip into a wall. As I look down I see my new lm4 barrel laying on the ground at my feet. The receiver sheared in half, near where it meets the barrel. Thing is though that the part that sheared is the reinforced receiver part... Pictures to follow after the game. Suggestions of what to do?

Welding machine?

Damn though that really sucks, I hate hearing all of these stories of peoples guns snapping when they trip (know of a few). Its retarded, but my natural reaction when tripping or falling is to protect the gun haha. I once fell after running full speed and naturally raised my gun up and fell on my chest haha.

JB Weld, sandpaper, and spraypaint. Works better then you think.

Quicksteel (putty) + JB Weld are your friends. Quicksteel for fabricating broken pieces, JB Weld to bond broken parts.

I used this combination to repair a broken outer barrel unit on my G36.

Pictures!

I would expect a gun to break at the barrel, but this sheared at the reciever, the thick metal parts... maybe a lemon or poor quality metal? I hit the wall going fairly slow, with the rifle hanging on a sling muzzle down. My body was the force of impact... I have had other guns that have taken the same punishment and have not broken like that.

Ok, now actually for the pictures.

Dang that sucks. I remember my KWA SR12 brand new and first time on the field fell on the floor
cause my cheap sling gave and my sr12 broke in half  . I would not suggest putting glue or anything
on you're LM4 (cause I did that on my sr12 and not stable)
you're best bet is to buy a new upper receiver frm KWA.

Sh*t, that really sucks.  Never seen any gun break that clean.  You definitely need a new upper.  This happened to me once when a two point sling came lose and my gun went flying down onto a pointy rock.  Snapped just likes yours did, but it was messy.  All kinds of shaddered polymer and stuff.  I only trust my one point sling now :)  I must say the sling mount is ridiculously strong.  It holds up fine with the grenade launcher and everything on it.

On a side note, how many mags do ( or did you :( ) you run with your LM4?  They're so expensive, I was thinking about buying 3 MAYBE 4 more if I get it, I can't afford more than that.

I have 8 PMags... but one is in need of repair. I actually got a call this morning from the shop I bought it from saying to bring it in... Whats funny is that I have not contacted them at all since it was broken. I suppose word gets around fast.

Follow Allen's advice and call the customer support line. Your gun may be in warranty (as it is the PTS, and as long as you didn't mod it) so check with them before you do anything else. Sorry to hear/see this. That must really suck... :/

Anyway, KWA is now selling spare uppers for the LM4? :)

Yeah, hopefully that's covered under warranty. Even if it's not, I'd imagine KWA will work something out for you, because that's just a bit ridiculous.

That'd be great, I'd love to build a SBR upper for CQB use

I can almost guarantee its not under warranty, I have modded some things in the BCG and the lower reciever... plus their warranty doesn't cover "accidents".
