Did anyone else get terrible jamming problems right out of the box. This thing was jamming every other shot. I believe the problem is that the sides of the feeding ramp hug the bbs to tightly, causing it to get stuck. I saw this problem also on someone's video of the Ksc Hk45. Anyway, back to KWAs.
I think I fixed it by grinding down the sides of the feeding ramp slightly. I haven't shot it yet but by reciprocating the slide several times with bbs in a mag I haven't gotten any jams yet.
This gun is great though, the feel, the balancing, the accuracy from the new hop up make it an awesome airsoft gun. But I expected more than a gun jamming this much out of the box from KWA. My gun might just be a lemon though.
Anyway, if others get this problem just let this serve as a quick guide to fix the jamming.

Hi Benboben, congrats on your purchase! What brand and weight of bbs did you try? Did you do any maintenance on the gun when you took it out like cleaning or lubricating?

I used KWA .25g bbs like always. And I cleaned and lubed the slide rails with dry teflon lube. Lubed all the guts and o-rings with the included silicon like always. Cleaned out the barrel and bucking with a little wayer then dried. I know how to take care of my guns and love doing it. This was just a design flaw and maybe an issue with first runs. I was just wondering if any one else had this problem because the Ksc versions I have seen on the internet all had this issue. It wasn't a difficult fix it's just a little annoying having to deal with that. Especially since every KWA i have owned performed flawlessly out of the box.

Shoot, also my cylinder is damaged. Just called KWA and they said that I can use USP cylinders in it.

Sorry to hear that Ben. For future use make sure you do not apply any oil to parts that come in contact with the bbs. If it was jamming a lot before the cylinder broke, oil may have gotten in to the barrel or bucking. If you still have issues after your new cylinder is installed let us know. Hopefully a new cylinder will fix the issue and you can get back to shooting it asap! I just bought one too and it's awesome! I'm going to use it at LC this weekend!

I know very well to keep oil away from the bbs. The cylinder was broken from the start. The little bb pusher thing is chipped or deformed at an angle so it wedges the bb down instead of pushing it forward.

It was just a friendly reminder just to make sure. Submit a ticket on or Help Desk and we will take care of it.

Sorry if I sounded rude there. And there is no need to submit a ticket as I took the cylinder out of my little bro's broken Kp45 and the Hk45 is working great now. Also, thanks for all your help, we all appreciate it so much.

I have a semi-unrelated question about the HK45. Being that you mention that the air cylinder is a direct swap from the USP, does that mean that the gun, essentially, has the same power characteristics? Also, does that mean that the inner and outer barrels are the same as on the USP line? Or are those different?

Thanks.

The HK45 has the new hop up so the barrels are not interchangeable. The USP and HK45 only share a handful of parts.

Keep us posted if you find out the cause.  I have about 1000 rounds thru it now and no jams.  And my slide is getting smoother with more use.  Liking the HK45 more and more. :D

Mine jammed once too but it hasn't after cleaning and relubing everything.  I haven't noticed any thing deformed or out of place.  And the gun's slide do tend to stick half way when you manually rack it and gently let go.  But that is getting better with use.  Maybe there is a micro burr that I can't see.

No jamming ...but I do have a crack in the outer barrel.  The gun still works though.

No jamming or crack/split in the outer barrel for me so far.  But I'm a little concerned about the crack issue since the USP has been around for so long.  I'm not sure it the KP/USP ever had this issue.  This could indicate some sort of manufacturing inconsistency.

It's been recognized and is being addressed.  If you have an issue, as I do, contact KWA directly.
