I recived my KWA LM4 today and noticed something weird.

When the gun is not cocked I can only switch between semi and full auto, I can not switch to safe.
If I cock the weapon I can then switch to safe, semi, or full.

For this reason, I cannot have the weapon is safe and not cocked.

This dosn't seem normal to me, has anyone else run into this issue?

Thats supposed to be like that. A real AR's selector switch cannot be moved into the "safe" position until the weapon is cocked.

Yep.  That's completely normal.

If it is not cocked, it is inherently safe.  When cocked you have the ability to select safe.  As stated above, it is just like RS.

Ditto to what was posted by all.  It's what a real M4 does.  If you can't put it in safe it tells the operator that they can't fire because there isn't a round to fire.  It aids in keeping people alive when they need to rely on a real gun in a real situation.  Imagine if you thought the gun was loaded and you need to defend yourself? It would be quite a surprise to find out there was not round to fire and that's why the LM4 works that way.
