Sweet setup Boobie.

I am actually surprised that your LM4 still looks that nice after all the things you have done to it. LOL

Did you use the stock barrel nut?  I bought the Ris and it didn't come with any mounting hardware and I'm trying to find a replacement.

You can't use a OEM barrel nut for most rails, especially the Noveske/SWS style rails. The Noveske style has a longer nut with threaded holes throughout that the rails bolts go into. If you didn't get a nut with the ral then I'd return it (if new) or buy a replacement (unsure where to get it from).

I emailed madbull and they helped me find one from a retailer, very impressed, I got the rail for $40 so I thought it was a steal and it was well worth the trouble.

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forums.
Just wondering if this setup would work on my lm4.

the 12 in DD lite railhttp://www.airsoftgi...oducts_id=10255
and the bravo gas block http://www.airsoftgi...roducts_id=4821

Will the gas block allow me to keep my gas tube while fitting inside the rail system? or is it too large to fit inside

Bravo gas block works. Search the other pages on this thread. It fits into the gas tube but the pin the holds it in won't stay put. But the block stays in quite well once it is properly adjusted.

Let me know if anyone has any questions on these parts / installs.

Parts already installed on my KWA LM4 PTR:
  • Mad Bull Daniel Defense OmegaX 9" rail Black — Needed to cut a channel for the 'gas tube'. Once installed the rail sits about 1.5mm higher than the upper receiver rail. Comes loose easily, may need to use some blue locktite on the screws
  • Rainier Arms PTS Xtreme Tactical Compensator Flash Hider CCW — bolt-on
  • Magpul USA UBR Stock DFE — Needed to slightly file edges of alignment lip as it fit but it initially did not sit flush with lower receiver
  • Magpul USA Angled Fore Grip DFE — bolt-on
  • Magpul PTS MOE Hand Grip DFE — bolt-on, but make sure you use supplied Magpul bolt as KWA bolt slightly too long and does not allow for solid fit
  • Magpul USA Ladder Rail Covers DFE x3 — Clip-on, but cut some up to extend along entire length of DD 9" rail and for flush fit on bottom of rail against AFG
  • Magpul Enhanced Rubber Buttpad for CTR, ACS, MOE, and UBR Stocks, 0.70" — bolt-on
  • Spike's Tactical Billet Trigger Guard— Needed to file attachment points to fit flush in trigger guard well, front pin slot needed slight adjustment to fit
  • Black Rain Milled Tac Latch — bolt-on
  • G&P VLT Low Profile Gas Block — bolt-on, but pin hole is too far forward for 'gas tube' so the tube floats and has been fastened in place with some putting in the gas block
  • UTG Standard Push Button QD Sling Swivel, 1-Inch Loop — bolt-on
Parts yet to be installed / purchased:
  • Troy BattleSight Back Tritium Folding
  • Troy BattleSight Front Tritium HK Folding
  • EOTECH 511.A65 , Rev. F — or similar

Intended final look. Note that the final parts don't exactly match up to this early Photoshop mock-up.

You encountered those problems because the Omega X rails are not intended for KWA's. I bought the normal Madbull DD 7" Omega Rail System and it went on with no problems or mods.

Ah — thanks for that. I went with the OmegaX as I prefer the streamlined look through from rail to receiver. Cutting out the channel was no problem through the aluminum. I'm more bothered by the slight mis-alignment, but I'm just being pedantic.

Does the omega rail sit flush with the rail on the receiver?

There is a slight gap between the omega rail and the upper rail; maybe 1 mm. I have a reflex sight mounted so half of it rests on both the upper and omega.

Edit: the rails didn't include any literature. As such, the kit included the rails, 4 flat head screws to lock the rails, clear spacers for the 4 screws (which I opted to not use so the screw sets flush on the rail) and hex screws. I think the hex screws are supposed to screw into delta ring to leverage (press/space) the rail into the triangle post assembly to prevent wobble; I think I could have tightened the hex screws too much which has caused the slight gap.

Nice build bladerunner!

Here's my LM4 (setup to replicate my LaRue PredatAR):
Posted Image
Compatible RS parts installed:
* Midwest Industries Gen2 SS-Series 12" Rail
* Magpul Industries MOE Stock
* Magpul Industries MIAD with F4 strap
* KAC BUIS
* T-1 (4MOA) with LaRue mount
* LaRue rail panels and Handstop
* Troy Gas block

Compatible Airsoft parts installed:
* DYTac SF MB556K

Also most RS and pretty much all Airsoft charging handle latches should be fine too. I've tested swapping the OEM latch with a Badge Ordinance Latch, an assortment of different latches (both RS and Airsoft) I had lying around, and this VFC replica of the BCM Gunfighter Mod3 latch:

Prior to that I installed a Madbull Troy VTAC 11" rail with no problems:

That's simply sublime Corps :clap:

Sometimes, I wished I lived America just so I'd have access to RS stuff easily.

I've got a Madbull Spikes Tactical 9" RIS coming soon, I think it suits the Magpul reciever.

Thanks bladerunner! I think Spike Tactical RIS would look cool, but I actually really like the setup you've already got there.

On another note, one of my buddies from my weapon manipulation shooting classes has been interested in getting into airsoft to supplement his RS training (well that, and he's had a lot of fun at our last few private games :) ). He asked that we build him an AR similar to his RS AR15. We picked up a LM4 this evening from AEX (Torrance, CA) and I worked on it this evening. He supplied me with a spare RS Troy 13" Battle Rail he had. I installed that and then cut down and modded the OEM front sight post to be a low profile gas block (old school style).

Posted Image

In retrospect, while the RS Troy rail did go on, it certainly made me work for it.  Kinda like what I experienced with the Midwest Industries rail, the threading on the upper receiver was different enough from the RS spec, that the new barrel nut essentially acted as a die and recut the threads of the upper as it went on. It was a surprising amount of effort. It's now on there, but it wasn't 100% drop in with no problems. Anyone else experience this with their own RS rails?
