Thanks bladerunner! I think Spike Tactical RIS would look cool, but I actually really like the setup you've already got there.

On another note, one of my buddies from my weapon manipulation shooting classes has been interested in getting into airsoft to supplement his RS training (well that, and he's had a lot of fun at our last few private games Posted Image ). He asked that we build him an AR similar to his RS AR15. We picked up a LM4 this evening from AEX (Torrance, CA) and I worked on it this evening. He supplied me with a spare RS Troy 13" Battle Rail he had. I installed that and then cut down and modded the OEM front sight post to be a low profile gas block (old school style).

In retrospect, while the RS Troy rail did go on, it certainly made me work for it.  Kinda like what I experienced with the Midwest Industries rail, the threading on the upper receiver was different enough from the RS spec, that the new barrel nut essentially acted as a die and recut the threads of the upper as it went on. It was a surprising amount of effort. It's now on there, but it wasn't 100% drop in with no problems. Anyone else experience this with their own RS rails?

This is the exact build that i always want to do to a LM4 when i get one soon. That Troy TRX rail looks great with the LM4.

sorta kinda a necro, recently am looking to purchase external upgrades and such, had come across a couple places that said the A&K M4 RIS wouldn't fit my LM4 PTR?

How does this rail system fit exactly?  I had saw on the 6th page that someone fit it on their LM4 but I was just making sure about it before purchasing

What problem did you have with it?
I'm saving money to buy the kwa/ksc version of the crusader badass at WGC-Shop i thought it fit perfect with no mods...

when i first installed it the selector was rubbing against the receiver and also did not have a positive engagement click. (if your ok with that then no mods are needed) i added the included washers but noticed the groove for the safety detent was not aligned anymore. i had to cut a new groove so the detent could click into position. please keep in mind the selector was made for the ksc version and not the usa lm4.

So does anyone have any comments on M4-style RIS for the LM4?  Does either of these fit: The A&K M4 RIS?  Or the M4 RIS Unit for G&P, CA, KWA, G&G?

One quiestion about the KNS pins, how did you install them? What you had to mod? the lower or the pins?

the pins. you'll have to shorten the pin length so the links will sit flush to the receiver as the lm4 receiver is thinner than a real ar. you also will have to widen part #86 to accept the new pins. please remember BEFORE you try removing the existing trig and ham pins to remove part 86.
