Do you have the regular lower, or the pts lower. If you have the former. I'd look into the Troy industries version.

Unless someone has information otherwise.

I got a Knight's Armament rail about a week ago and installed it onto my lm4 with no modifications at all. It fit perfectly

Do you have to use a KWA Barrel lock nut on and aftermarket kit or can you use a RS without a retread?

That depends on the front end you are putting on.

Was looking at a Knights Armament KAC URX II 10.75" Rail System, I like they look a lot.

When looking for stocks do not look for AEG specific stocks or GBBR specific stocks.  The terms that you should be looking for are MILSPEC or Civilian.  All the buffer tubes on all KWA rifles are MILSPEC and will accept stocks designed for those dimensions. Meaning I can take the stock off my AEG and put it on my LM4 with no worries.

Now Buffer tubes on the other hand ARE Different.  GBBR buffer tubes are attached differently to the lower receiver than AEG's, so if you wanted to change the Buffer tube then you will have to worry about the different designs between GBBR and AEG.

Hope this clears things up.

So this will fit the lm4?

Not sure, if it doesn't fit I'll just throw it on my RS that I'm building. Just didn't know if I need to do a retread on the upper to make it fit. Didn't know if someone had tried any KA Rails yet using the KA barrel lock nut.

Just wanted to note ... last night I was asked to install a RS VTAC rail on an upper receiver. The rail I was given was a newer generation Troy/VTAC Alpha rail which uses a slightly different mounting method than the Troy/VTAC TRX Rails.

Old Troy rails:
The older Troy/VTAC TRX rails slip onto an included troy barrel nut and is tightly held in place by tightening down two screws at the rear of the rail (that are perpendicular to the rail itself).

New Troy rails:
The newer Troy/VTAC Alpha rails do not have a proprietary barrel nut included as they are no longer needed. Instead you use a standard barrel nut from a delta ring assembly. Similar to the older style TRX rails, you slip the rail onto the barrel nut but with the new Alpha rails, you use three screws at the rear of the rail that point inwards at the 2 o'clock, 6 o'clock, and 10 o'clock to clamp internal brackets onto the delta ring.

How does this apply to you the LM4 consumer? What this means is that if you choose to buy a real Troy or VTAC Alpha rail, you can use the KWA OEM delta ring assembly's barrel nut  that came with your gun (you will first have to remove the delta ring's c-clip (aka barrel snap ring), spring (aka weld spring) and collar (delta ring) which are no longer needed).

A HUGE benefit to this is that since you're using the KWA OEM barrel nut that came with your rifle, you will obviously not have to worry about re-threading the upper receiver threads, and installation is pretty straight forward.

Some of the Guarder parts (now IS?) will install without any modifications to the gun. Such as the charging handle, magazine catch, trigger, and fire selector. Me and BoobieM4H have them installed in our guns and it was a simple install. As for the barrel and hopup unit, to my understanding they won't install without modifications.

Even though the barrel says "KWA/KSC" I'm guessing this is in regards to the Non-US version of the KWA PTS which still utilizes the old hopup system. I'm still curious if anyone makes any hopup systems or barrels for the Japan version, as it's had the new hopup system since late 2011 it seems.

That is a beautiful weapon, also some what happy that I didn't purchase the Crusader Ambi-Selector. The Guarder steel selector has a nice engagement with each fire mode.
