I just received a KWA M93R from Evike.com last evening; upon inspection, I noticed that the inside of the outer barrel had a small, yet noticable defect on it.  It does not feel like a chip, but rather, it looks as though the painting process was incomplete.  I haven't fired the gun yet, as I wanted to talk to Evike about an exchange.  Has anyone seen something like this before?  Will it hinder the performance of the gun?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Regards.

Based on the picture it looks like it is the primer is starting to come off. The process is normal for guns that have been used for quite some time; after over a year of use my KZ75 now has a speckling orange paint on the inner part of the outer barrel. However in your case I don't know what could have sped up the process. If you can't get the gun exchanged with Evike or get the outer barrel replaced from KWA (assuming your still in warranty), you can try dry frying it a few times to see if it blows off the paint that is peeling. If that doesn't work you can try using a dry cotton swab to remove the peeling part, and then dry fire again.

I have been back-and-forth with KWA Customer Support and their take is that all products are inspected before shipping; does this mean that the defect occurred at Evike?  I am currently in the process of registering for an RMA number from Evike for exchange.  I still have yet to fire the gun, as I do not want to be accussed of causing the issue; better safe than sorry, right?!  Thanks to all for the help.

I just remembered my experience with ASGI, if you are within warranty Evike may refer you back to KWA. In which case you can submit a ticket with the  above picture through the help desk. If it requires any repairs on the gun, then they will issue you an RMA.

I just submitted a ticket for exchange through Evike (fingers crossed); when I spoke with the Customer Support representative, he felt that an exchange would be warranted, and even throught that Evike would send a prepaid shipping label to me.  I will update on my status with the exchange.

I just noticed this, but I think I placed the thread under the wrong category on the forum; my apologies, if a Moderator could relocate it to the proper forum, I would appreciate it.  Regards.
