The slide catch seems to not be engaging all the time, if I pull the slide back manually it locks instantly, but as soon as I shoot thats when I have problems with the slide catch.

You may want to check your bb follower in the mag.  The ends could have become damaged if you have been slamming the bb follower without bb's in the channel.

Niko's right. You may want to look into getting another magazine to solve your issue. If you want to fix your magazine, hop on the pro shop and order another bb follower for your USP. (I'm assuming that's the gun you have...?)

Other area you may want to check out..............

1. make sure you are charging your mag long enough (about 15 seconds)
2. Try a different green gas can
3. Your release valve on the mag may not be releasing enough gas
4. Your impact hammer is not hitting the release valve hard enough (can be a weak hammer spring)

Try the first 2 and report back.
