The AK's are now scheduled to me made as GBBR's and ERG's.  All of the ERG's will come with the 3GX gearbox.  So, by elimination there will not be AK's with a 2GX gearbox.

aslo, sorry there are no AK- 47's anyway there are AK-74M/ -74SU variants, AK-47 is auctually very rare in airsoft and real steel, almost all are modeled after the later AKM design...

Trev, the AK47 in the real world is as popular as the 74. The difference between the two is that the '47 shoots the 7.62x39, while the updated design of the '74 shoots the 5.45x39. The AK74's hitting power is a tad less, but has reduced recoil, and the legendary reliability of the original AK47, The AK47 has awesome hitting power which is why it is still used widely among nations- not to mention the military surplus of them lying around the world- especially in 3rd world countries. There are essentially millions of AK47s, among different variants just to prove how common they are. Hence, I find your comment about the AK47 invalid.

auctually the 3rd worlds mostly uses knock offs like type 56s and others if they dont make their own, and the AKM also fires the 7.62mm round and replaced the ak 47 as the standard service rifle in the late 50s, the akm is more prvalent because it is silly to make a ak47 when the akm has many improvements (lighter, more accurate, less recoil...)

Over a year ago, KWA revealed an ak47 aeg prototype in an ASGI video showing that the ak47 gearbox would be further reinforced like they had done to the version 2 2gx gearbox for the m4. However, KWA canceled the ak47 since the market showed that ak47's were mundane and scrapped the ak47 project for the an Ak that was more modern which were the ak74's.  Even though the ak74 calls for a 3gx erg gearbox, I can say that the 2gx version 3 gearbox was not scrapped along with ak47. That 2gx version 3 gearbox is in the current KWA g36c 2gx with h&k trademarks.

That's understandable that you are not a big fan of blow back guns. KWA does not plan plan on phasing AEGs out for the ERGs, as the m4 AEG lineup is here to stay and expand. I have not heard anything about an AK non blowback AEG since the canceled AK47, so we can only hope.

Trev,
While that may be true, it still doesn't explain why the Kalashnikov was made over 100 million times. Of those 100 million guns, the World Bank estimates that 75 million of them were AK47 variants. They are still very easy to find even though the AKM and 74s outclassed them.

That's were your wrong. Recent AK-47 variants have been made with the AKM improvments and they are still labeled as AK47. They aren't rare. I can walk into my local gun shop and buy a WASR 10 for 500. (Not that I would want too) Original AK47 are another story but that is simply because the design changed very quickly. The AKS-47 is still a AK47. AKM is still an AK47. Don't try to reply, i have took years of firearms education courses and specialized Kalashnikov courses. Also, there is no AK-74SU.

To All:  Let's take a look at the OP's post: will there be an ak without the erg gear box cause some people like myself do not like the blow back feature an will the erg have the 2gx gear box or a whole different one because of the erg system

So, now that you have read it you can clearly see that we are off topic.  Let's get back on topic please.  If you would like to have a further AK discussion, please start a new thread.

i know the auctual fire arm is a AKS-74u or AKC-74Y, i was reffering to the kwa model called the AKG-74SU, also, if the ak47 has the akm improvements then i consider it to be a akm.....

aslo, when i said very rare, i was refffering ot relative, there are more AKMs or copys of it than ak47s
