Hey guys,

This is the second thread I've started regarding my under-performing KP45 Tactical. While I could write the whole thing all over again, here is the link that go to my earlier thread: http://kwausa.com/fo...l=&fromsearch=1. Just a quick update, I have had access to multiple brands of green gas and every bottle I've tried has been full; I got no pleasing results. Take note of post #5.

Spiggy suggested that my mag catch is "wonky," but wasn't able to offer much help short of sending it out. The quote I got when I submitted a ticket for assistance put the total price at $55+ after shipping, a price I simply am not willing to pay.

I've literally spent hours totaling up to days inside of AEGs, springers, and GBBs, but this has me stumped. I've consulted a few fellow techs and I think we all agree that the mag catch must be to blame as the magazine sits a tad bit low when inserted. If that is the problem, I can't imagine why in light of the fact that the release is in place and undamaged. It looks identical to that of the new USPs we got in the shop a few weeks ago.

Please, if anyone can offer me anything, I would be very grateful. If you have any ideas that are in line with my conclusion or other, please speak up. If you know where I can grab a new mag catch just for the sake of trying it, toss a link my way.

If you want pictures, videos, etc., don't be afraid to ask.

Thanks.

That's a prime answer, but I don't understand. How would the follower lock change anything?

EDIT:

Alright, I think I understand now. If you're thinking the slide doesn't lock back, it does. The problem is that the power at the muzzle and that of the blowback is lacking unless I push up on the bottom of the magazine while shooting, hence the determination that the mag release is to blame.

It could be a mag catch that has worn over time but before you go tearing into your gun, have you tried it with any other mags?  It could very well be the mag too.

I guess no ones reading the original thread...I have two mags, neither of which will make the thing work. I have tried other mags to no avail. It just seems odd that the mag catch would wear out in just a few months with moderate use. That being said, it's a solution and I'll take it. K-Dub sells the spring; any idea where I can get the catch itself? Seems to be available for every pistol but the USP.

I'm pretty sure that's the lock for the the follower; it holds the spring down so you can load BBs. I appreciate your looking, though. If it is the mag catch that has worn down, it's like the prongs that catch the mag have worn down ~1.5mm.

No worries, man. I submitted another ticket requesting the part so we'll see where that gets me. In the mean time, if anyone else still has ideas as to what the problem could be, toss 'em my way.
