Is there a new version of the ATP? Mine has a trigger safety, solid orange tip(as in not threaded) and a metal guide rod?

Yes, it is an updated version for the second round of releases.

Sorry you feel that way, but how exactly is it not cool?  The plastic tip, which many users have removed, no longer has threads. That was confusing some people who wanted to place a can on the end of the ATP which it is not designed to handle.  The trigger lock is a feature that some like and some don't.  In fact, the LE guys I speak with have met it with mixed reviews.  If you would like one, I am sure they will be available in the near future.  Regarding the metal spring guide, as good as the polymer guide is, it was determined that replacing it with the metal guide might be a good idea.

KWA prides itself on constant improvement.  The changes you see in the ATP reflects that philosophy.

You are the first to ever report breaking a take down lever spring.
Sounds like something is up with your bucking. Maybe swollen or not installed correctly.

My current spring guide is all scratched and has cuts on the back edges.

I put an Element Enhanced spring guide in mine.  I swapped in the KWA spring because the Element spring was too stiff.  It cost me 10 bucks.  Look for the one for "KWA/KSC M17 Enhanced Metal Spring Guide".  KWA will have them available eventually too.

I am even using a Guarder spring and guide rod made for TM M17.  It's couple of mm longer than stock but it still works great.

Generally when a new version comes out, KWA CS tends to stock those extra parts.
