part number 35(impact hammer is giving me trouble. My gun was not firing, and upon closer inspection and takjing it apart i found that the impact hammer was not under tension and as a result would sometimes not return to the down position needed to fire. And suggestions because the spring ( pt #75) that seems like it had the job of creating tension is not at all connected to the inpact hammer(anymore?). It looks like in the diagram this is not supposed to be at all connected but i may be wrong. Any help would be appreciated. M1911 users only?

I wish I had an answer for you.  If the part #75 is not engaging then it sounds like replacement is needed.  Have you considered opening a ticket (on the KWA Help Desk) and sending the gun in for repair?

Working with those springs can be very tricky.  I agree with gcw.  You should open a trouble ticket with helpdesk.

I wish I had an answer for you but there is no guaranty that YOU broke it.  Every gun will go down eventually if used.  Perhaps you can call KWA and ask to speak directly to tech support.  They might be able to give you some pointers.

You could PM the OP on the links you provided and see what his resolution was.  Just a thought.

I just ran into a MKIV with this problem.  The little pin cast into the side of the bar that hits the valve broke off, and so the little spring has nothing to sit on anymore.  This makes the part not reset, and the gun wont fire.  I will have plenty of pictures of the problem in a little while.

The most common reason for this piece breaking is dry firing the pistol (pulling the trigger without the magazine in it). The repair is a little tricky so I would also recommend sending it in for repair.

I also have this problem with the Mark IV and i can definably say that is what happened. I do dry fire the hammer a lot and the spring is free with nothing to hold on too.

It appears to me that the problem with the pin shearing on the impact hammer is a design defect. I have a Mark IV PTP with less than 2000 rounds thru it where the pin sheared off the impact hammer. And no, I bought this gun new and it has never been dry fired while in my possession. I also do not see this part (#35 on the schematic) listed on KWA's web site as an available part. Perhaps they should manufacture it out of a harder metal.

Perhaps KWA should look at http://kwausa.com/fo...?showtopic=8093 and manufacture the impact hammer out of tool steel.
