First I would like to thank everyone on these forums for the great tips and insight.  I have enjoyed reading the new posts daily for the last few weeks.  I first discovered these forums a month or so ago when my sons old v1 m4a1 suddenly stopped firing, after 80,000+ rounds.  Through this forum I discovered it was most likely the trigger post which had broken, and then decided to break it apart and see what makes these things tick.  I used a slightly modified poor mans trigger post fix, which has held up very well.  I'm willing to bet the post I welded in its place will be the last piece that breaks on his rifle!

After all the fun I had repairing his m4a1, I had to buy myself and my daughter an airsoft rifle also - Kwa's of course.  My daughters G36c arrived about 40 days or so ago (waiting on Airsoft GI to mail original invoice).   My m16br arrived about 10 days ago (saved invoice  ;) ). Today I received my new F1 Chrony, yeah I jump head first into all hobbies, according to my wife anyways!    I'm embarrassed to mention everything else on it's way.  I think my son may have tricked me into this hobby, lol.

Eager to test the F1 Chrony I ran our 3 Kwa rifles through it.  I used .25g bb's  in all of the tests.  My son's old v1 m4a1 averaged 386 fps. Which like I mentioned has run approximately 80,000+ rounds through it, completely original minus the trigger post mod and my re-lubing of the gearbox/cylinder.  My two week old m16br only averaged 360 fps.  This was slightly disappointing since it has a 130 spring instead of the 120, and is a lot newer.  My daughters 40-50 day old G36c, was even more disappointing.  It only averaged a measly 248 fps.

This really surprised me since she rarely uses her rifle (less than 2,000 rounds).  I plan on calling Airsoft GI this afternoon to see if I have passed the warranty by a few days or not.  If her G36c is still within the 45days I plan on sending it in, even though I can't wait to break open a v3 gearbox!

My main questions are:
If it is not within the 45 days, what would be the most likely reason for the fps drop?  Also, is it normal for my m16br with a 130 spring to be shooting lower than an 80,000+ round v1 m4a1 with original o-rings?  I can't imagine my re-lubing of an old m4a1 would have superior compression compared to a new M16br.

OT: The m4a1 looked in almost perfect condition after 80,000+ rounds minus the trigger post!

Well your M4 is getting amazing compression lol

Your other rifles seem to have very bad compression, especially the G36C.  (I doubt it's the spring)

Oh, just a thought, but did you shoot 2-3 times on semi with NO bbs before you put the G36C away?  I'm thinking your spring may have gotten compressed, but it shouldn't reduce the power THAT much.

KWA handles the warranties, so why don't you contact them?  ASGI will most likely just tell you to send it to KWA.

If it's out of warranty by a few days, I think you should be okay since the guns haven't been modified.  (KWA is nice like that :D)

Best of luck

OT
If you need some tips on getting the V3 trigger in, let me know, most people have major trouble with them; not me. :D

Yeah, I'm always certain the rifles are never stored with a compressed spring.  I normally fire a few rounds on semi into my flannel jacket hanging in the closet ..LoL.  I figured that's better than completely dry firing them.

Allizard pm'd me earlier this morning regarding sending it back in, which I plan on doing after I speak with Airsoft GI.  Another example of the great KWA customer service at work.  I must admit I was really looking forward to the v3 gear box, but I can enjoy rewiring my sons m4a1 this weekend instead (Sw-cheetah).

I will definitely hit ya up on the trigger tips in the future, but I'm sure it will work exceptionally well after Kwa's done with it.  The m16br is what I need to decide on now.  Not sure if it's under performing enough to justify sending in.  Especially since it will be completely torn apart on its 45th day, 34 days and counting   . I will probably shoot it for a few more weeks and see if it begins to decline anymore first.

I will be grabbing some .20g bb's later today so I can re-chrono.  Those .20's are at least useful for a standardized reading.  It's just ironic that my Airsoft Atlanta package is due today, and I only ordered ksc .30g bbs ......oh well

Btw: Thanks for responding in the G36c section, it's like a ghost town in here relative to the m4/m16 section ...lol

LOL... G36c thread seems like a ghost town here because of two reasons.

1. M4 is the MOST popular gun in US.  It's the good guys gun.  Everybody wants one.
2. G36c is the most problem free gun.  Type 3 gearbox WTF IMHO.

You saying Germans are bad!? :P  I take offense to that with my G36K and Flecktarn loadout.    ha ha jk

G36 series is the best design for airsoft IMO.  Very very easy to disassemble, are ambidextrous (even being a righty, it comes in handy), are extremely comfortable to hold, double mag design (both good and bad) and have a V3 gearbox.  What else could you want?

Very interested to see how you resolve the FPS drop.

I agree, G36C forum needs some more love.  Maybe if I start messing with the gun some more I'll be posting up more threads LOL.

I've got a couple AWS mosfets lying around, so I will probably install it in the next week or two.  That should be the beginning of the end.

I will be sending in both rifles for warranty repair on Monday.  I'll keep you posted as to what the problems were.  Kwa's customer service is top notch!   I'm also looking forward to reading about your mosfet install on a G36c.  It would be great if we could get some photos also  ;)  .

Yeah,  please post some pics.  I'd especially like to see the list of parts you used for the conversion.

His G36K is posted now. About time the G36C got its own gallery.

Anyway, I am truly shocked. Out of all the employees at KWA USA (I'm guessing 100+), only 1 has a G36C? Why no love KWA?

Does this mean they have JG/Echo1 G36c's, or only M4a1/M16's in general?  You can plead the 5th on that one if ya like  ;) .

Well...  after Radix shot my G36 and I think he wants one now.

Radix "wow... it's so light weight to carry around, and very quiet."
Allizard "exactly why I rather carry this gun for battle instead of M4.                                               "

Umm ... remember who gave you that KG36C?  <_<

In all honesty, the KG36C is a great weapon, it just does not fit my playing style. :)
