I recently purchased two KWA rifles, one is M4 RIS is like a good looking girl friend looks good but does not know how to cook or clean, so you keep it for looks. My G36C came out of the box defective shooting at 280 fps, everybody offers advice, but nobody call's it for what it is, A lemon , this the only industry where you buy an item and can not return it get your money and go with diferent brand.
Keep in mind my G36C cost me $285.00. sending it to KWA cost me an extra $33.00
I bought a KWA because it is considered a TOP of the line company, would I buy or recommend KWA to fellow airsofters, NOT a chance I'm really disappointed.
This is a multi million industry, is also unregulated there is no consumer protection law, YET
food for thought

P.S The M4 RIS I'll keep for externals and hang it on wall, not battle worthy

Hey Never Again,

Sorry to hear that your experience with KWA products have been anything but stellar.  But can you give us some details in regards to the what was defective on the 2 rifles you bought and how long ago it was purchased?
And who have you been speaking to in resolving your issues?  You said everyone offered advice but I wonder if you have been talking to the right people.  If it is indeed a lemon you will find that KWA will go above and beyond to resolve issues with their products.  If you can give us some more details we can definitely try our best to help you.

Well KWA should be getting my G36C on Monday Octuber 3 My ticket #6805 RMA# 15273.
I got both of them within a month, from airsoft megastore.
I  also own an ICS sig 552 never had problem with it and had it for about  a year.
The M4 RIS I got it on August 24, the G36C on Sept 22 did not get to test it until the 24th.
If I had gone with a cheaper brand like JG or crossman this woulden't even bother Me, when You buy Lexus You expect QUALITY out the dealer not a KIA. Even if it gets fix I already lost, By paying to get shipped, God only knows when I gonna get it BACK

That issue can be caused by something as minor as a dirty bucking and barrel. When was the last time you thoroughly cleaned the excess packing grease that can coat the contacts in the bucking in a new gun?

On a three week old gun that could be the problem with less than 5,000 shots, the other one right of the box.
I did not know You have to perform degreasing on something  that NEW

Have you cleaned the bucking and barrel as Niko suggested?  And if so...how?  Are you using dry cotton patches or are you using the silicone that came with the gun? Are you chronoing with the hop-up off? And what is "low" regarding the FPS on the RIS? I ask these questions because we want to help but need more information.

You know it's funny but my parents own a LEXUS and 2 MERCEDES between them and they too have their share of problems with such high quality vehicles. There is obviously a lack of technical knowledge here and when the mods suggest some things to try you should have enough sense to try it. I used to kick, scream and cry when something I bought didn't work. Then I turned 13 and learned to listen when someone that's considered expert gives me advice. I am only 18 but I have enough wisdom to listen first before I start screaming bloody murder and accusing someone of being part of a conspiracy. Geez........grow up and listen from time to time.

Ok, so would you answer my questions from my previous posts please?  It's the only way we can help you.  Also, where did you buy the gun and did it come with warranty papers?

Kid for information I already own a lexus and I don't like mercedes because they carry a lot of issues. For your information I'm a grown man I just don't like the fact that I pay for top quality and get defective crap. Now if you fix new items right out of the box God bless your 18 year old heart.Hope you move out of your parents house you must be causeing them a lot of stress on top of eating their food. I guess you don't mind defective items because your parent are probably paying for it.

Hi Never_Again, look I'm not hating or anything i just want to say that with my RIS i get around 390-400 FPS with .2's and 350 with .25's and I'm using KSC's. so if this is the FPS your getting then thats normal. as for not shooting strait it's most likly a dirty barrel. use dry cotton strips and the cleaning rod until the barrel is clean.
Hope this helps

Also what type of battery are you using? I know the G36's can be picky with Iipos. What retailer did you buy the gun from? Trying to keep it civil here, but using your analogy, would you buy a car without test driving it? As far as shipping costs, if you are local to KWA, they are one of the manufactures that will allow the defective item to be dropped off in person. Not even Merecedes or Lexus would do that... Ferrari maybe ;)

Whenever a new KWA owner whines to me about feeding problems and horrible performance, I always ask them if they have cleaned their barrel or bucking. And they always respond with, Why would I need to? I never had to clean my TM for years. Or... What is that?

Every single AEG I have purchased has always come with an extremely dirty barrel, and bucking soaked in chunky grease. I do feel like if a little more time was put into just making sure the AEG was clean out of the box, by the manufacturer, that most people wouldn't have to figure out the lack of performance out of the box. However, the problem is. Barrels will still get dirty from the coating of the bb, and the bucking will get some grease on it from the gearbox, after it is cleaned. So, really cleaning your barrel and hop up/bucking is something that should be left to the user to do, because one way or another, he will have to clean it several times after, again himself.

Clean the barrel, and try a different brand of bb's. I never achieved even satisfying performance on 0.25g madbull in ANY brand gun I have used, which has ranged from even Tokyo Marui to various China brands.

Do KWAs not perform? If you have a barrel that is filled with dirt and a bucking that is soaking in grease, and using bb's that don't perform well, those variables alone will make ANY AEG not perform well. Grease and dirt can cause misfeed problems, significant lost in velocity, and horrible accuracy. I'm not ruling out that your KWAs have more issues than what seems to be the culprit at the moment. However, I'll say that just because your two guns doesn't perform well doesn't mean that other peoples' KWAs are the same. What we know so far is that your KWAs aren't performing to what they should be, and it  can be frustrating to be told one thing, and not see it in the hundreds of dollars you've spent.

Anyways, clean your barrel and hop up bucking. Here's a guide on How to Clean your KWA IB, Hop Up, and Bucking. And see how it goes from there.

I have to agree that the RIS is a good looking gun. I do prefer the way it looks in my hands tho...

For what it is worth, I bought a RIS earlier this year. I tested and chrono'd at the store at ~400fps, so I have not experienced the difficulties nor the frustration you are feeling. After a bit of use and cleaning with silicon (I know, I know), I found this board and the instructions linked above. I'm fairly surprised how well my RIS was performing given the gunk that I cleaned out.

I tend to give the benefit of the doubt, so I am assuming that the excess grease is primarily the result that KWA has no idea how long it is going to take from time of manufacture to when a gun lands in the hands of the consumer. Better to have to clean out the rifle a few times than have gears seize (IMHO).

I hope that KWA is able to get your G36C performing in a satisfactory manner for ya, and you will find this forum supportive if you decide to pull the RIS off the wall and give 'er another shot (pun intended).
