Hi,

I was hoping to replace my stock JG gearbox in my G36C. I was thinking about buying the complete KWA G36C Gearbox from the Pro Shop and placing it in my gun: http://store.kwausa....36cgearbox.aspx

I was also hoping to put a bigger handguard on the G36C. I have been looking after one and 35 buck is a great deal: http://store.kwausa....ghandguard.aspx

So, my question is, are these parts compatible with the JG G36C body. Can I just drop in the KWA gearbox? I heard I need to change the air nozzle to fit the hopup, but that shouldn't be a problem. Anything else?

Also, will the handguard slide on without modification to the body? Will the pin I have right now be the correct size?

Thanks in advance,

I know you will need to change the air nozzle.  Guarder nozzles are supposed to be great.

The handguard should fit fine, IDK why it wouldn't.....  In my experience, all G36 pins are about the same size, so it should be fine.

Probably be easier to get a KG36c and put the JG parts on it.  Definitely be cost effective if you plan on keeping the warranty intact. :D

Yeah well I already have a Echo 1/JG G36C so I don't wanna go out and buy another G36C.

I understand your reasoning, although consider this:  You pay $175 for the complete GB, and a new KWA G36C is only $265 minus 10% discount (using discount code "tim") and including shipping from Airsoft GI!

Compatibility issues could drive you nuts, especially with the length of JG's air seal nozzle.  I cannot tell you at this point whether you can simply drop the KWA GB into the JG G36C, although I do own both of them, but if you look at this thread here, you will see that JG has the longest air seal nozzle of them all ("One to rule them all" LOTR *LOL*):

Comparisons of G36 Air Seal Nozzles

Therefore, do not simply buy any air seal nozzles unless you can verify the length thereof.  The Guarder air seal nozzle would for example cause a bad air leak in a JG G36C!!  I replaced the air seal nozzle of my KWA G36C (which unfortunately has not a great air seal and no O-ring either) with a JG nozzle that comes with an O-ring!!  Yes, that nozzle does indeed exist (although not in JG's stock guns -- IIRC):

Source for JG's Air Seal Nozzle with O-ring

IMHO, it's not worth wasting your time "upgrading" a JG.  Just get the "real" thing ;).

Hope this helps.
