Well, after UPS has destroyed two of my tight bore barrels, don't ask me how, I have given up ordering it from airsoft post. But this may be an opportunity in disguise after glancing across some threads. I have am starting to re-evaluate my choices.

Now the there are 3 manufacturers I'm looking at, Prometheus which I have used before, PDI and EDGI. I'm looking for user input and anyone who has conducted some what scientific tests. If anyone has tried more than one of these manufacturers, that would certainly help in comparison. Now I realize that Prom only has 6.03mm, where PDI has 6.05 and 6.01, then EDGI has 6.05, 6.03 and 6.01. So there is going to some limitations in comparison due to different bores.

This also brings to mind the questions what are the strengths and weaknesses of the different bores as well as which manufacturer has the best results with a certain bore.

Evike sucks, I doubt it's UPS's fault

I'm no scientist, but I really like my Edgi 6.01mm barrel.  FYI, you can tell them what length and bore size you want, so you can get a 6.02 if you want.  They have AMAZING CS, so if something goes wrong, Ben at Edgi is glad to help.  IDK what my groupings are, but with an E1 H nub, 6.01mm 363mm Edgi barrel, teflon taped JG bucking (SRC bucking ripped, I lost my Systema.  Another Systema is OTW), and TSD .25 bbs, I can hit a tree about 4 inches wide almost every time from about 100 feet.  (the hop up unit isn't very good on my SRC)

According to some people who own Prometheus and PDI barrels, the PDI 6.05 has better range than a Promy, but the Promy is more accurate than the 6.05.  It's hard to determine which bore is "better" because PDI is probably the best barrel brand.

The hypothesis goes like this

The tighter the bore, the more accurate the gun is and sometimes the biggest fps boost.  Apparently, barrels with bore sizes larger than that of a 6.01mm have better range.  I only have experience with stock JG/SRC barrels and my Edgi.  I did not see a range decrease what so ever.

Probably not much help, but I really like my Edgi and I highly recommend it.    According to Ben at Edgi, the 6.01mm yields a higher fps increase and is more accurate than their 6.03mm.  I assume the 6.01mm gets better range as well?

Go for an Edgi 6.01mm if you want a great performing barrel, but don't want to spend the cash on a PDI.  I've never shot a Prometheus or a PDI, but if my info is correct, PDI is the best.

TCF prefers Edgi over PDI for sniper barrels and Allizard likes his Edgi barrel more than the Prometheus.  :)

Thanks for the info, I will certainly keep that in minde, and I do like the fact that they have good CS, I think that is pretty important as well, which is one of the reasons I prefer KWA as of right now, because they have excellent products and even better CS if some were to go wrong.

NP. I was having accuracy issues and I contacted them.  (it ended up being my hop up unit)  I sent many emails to him and he responded quickly to all, (like within a day most of the time) not to mention he was also patient and friendly.   So after several emails, it was narrowed down to: bbs or hop up spacer.  (I was using .25 TSDs)  Ben sent me 100 AE .25s and a SCS for FREE!  Totally free and it arrived very quickly.  (few days)

Long story short, they make great products and if something goes wrong (which I doubt it will) they are very willing to help.
