I know that many of the KWA parts cannot be used in other guns, such as gears.

However, I believe and have heard the the opposite is not true. Any gears and upgrade parts can go into a 2GX gearbox, as long as the GB version number is the same, correct? I have heard people putting RiotSC gears into a 2GX, but it just required shimming.

I actually heard of KWA 2GX parts being used in other brand gearboxes. Even then, it's tough to say because believe it or not, many brands are not cross compatible. There's a little more that goes a way than just a part "fitting" into a gearbox. When parts are made, they are made to a dimension that a manufacturer or company specifies. If a gearbox is too thin for the KWA 2GX gears, then it will not fit. If a gearbox is wider, well, then KWA gears can be shimmed into it. Then, there are other factors to look at, as well, like how certain gears, or various parts of the gearbox meshes with each other, and the materials of each part.

I am using KWA gears in my G&G and Echo1 (M249).  It was an awesome upgrade in my opinion.  But as Watermelon said certain gears will not fit other brand GB. For example I can not fit my KWA gears in my JG GB because it just does not have enough clearance for  beefier gears like KWA. But it doesn't make KWA anymore proprietary than any other company's products.

This is really great info to know, because I am performing upgrades after the summer. Thanks for the help.
