Hello All,
I've been wanting a GBBR for a while now and the KWA KMP9 caught my eye.  It really isn't a GBBR but it has a stock and a full auto feature which is enough for me.  I play in woodland. I have to say that because I plan on using this thing as a primary in woodland.  I would be very happy to get this gun shooting body shots at 150-200 ft.  I don't expect much after that nor do I want much after that.  If I try to make a shot from farther than 175-200 without using a snipers rifle I am just being lazy.  That being said what is your experience with the gun?  I have heard nothing but shining reviews of this piece but nothing really on the accuracy. I guess most people use it for cqb where it really doesn't matter.

Also I have not seen any decent pictures of the hop up on this thing.  Can anyone give me some pictures of the hop up mechanism?

cheers!

Body shots at 150 feet is really pushing it, 200 is not possible.  I'm able to do man sized targets on full auto at 130 feet.  Remember the MP9 has a 5.5" barrel.

I would say 50 to 75 ft will be your best accuracy range.

50 to 75? Ouch! Well I might not invest in it then. I'll just wait for the WE P90.  How about with a barrel extension and a 6.03 in there?  I know there are no barrel adapters available commercially yet but... i have some connections.

It's not a real gun, being accurate up to 75 ft with a 5.5 inch barrel is pretty good.

Actually, my KWA MP7 had an effective range of 150-175 feet. With a max distance of 200-230 feet. I would say the MP9 would yield similar results.

Have yo modified your mp7? Also, the mp7's barrel is longer so it will have better accuracy and it fires hotter, so it will have better range.

No modifications. I don't think the barrel length is enough to make a difference...if any it is negligible. I don't know what FPS the MP9 shoots.

I get a good 150 feet of effective range out of my MP9 when using .25 BBs. If you're only getting 50-75 feet of range out of your MP9, you're doing something wrong.

i don't own one, I'm just stating what I've read in reviews, and I've seen on my local field.

I own one and have fielded it multiple time. You can easily hit stuff at 100 feet. At 150, it may take two or three tries, but you can still hit what your trying to hit. BBs will disperse a bit and drop at about 175 feet.

*BTW, I use .25 BBs, other weights may yield different results.

Hahah Acorn Avenger, Im very aware that airsoft does not have the range or accuracy of real steel firearms.  :)  When I first got into airsoft I was so frustrated that I couldnt make it do what I knew real guns could but that was a good 7 years ago.  As far as barrel length goes Im undecided. Increased barrel lenght (to a point) will increase your range because of the increase in fps, but in my experience you can get just as good a range with a decent hop up and shorter barrel.  My TM pistol will do body shots at 200 feet easy.  Now the recoil of the KMP9 might cause a problem for getting good accuracy, but that is a training issue and nothing to do with the gun itself.

Italian13, tu sei da Italia? Parlie Italiano? I also use heaver weight ammo for eveything. I might decrease the range by a bit but the increase in accuracy and consistentcy is for me well worth it. I like to use between .25s and .28s on my guns and they all shoot around the 1 joule mark.

Thanks Hitman07 that is really encouraging!  Maybe Ill give it a try after all. How is the recoil of the MP7? Is it enought to make you try hard to keep it on target or is it like most gbb pistols?

It is very easy to stay on target with the MP7...handles very well on recoil.

actually here is a review I did on it a long time ago :)

Sorry about accusing you of thinking that airsoft has the same accuracy and range of a real gun, i have a bad habit of getting defensive and I'm working on fixing that.

Good review.  Nice accuracy at 150 too.  The box was a little smaller than a torso and it sounded like you got it about 75% of the time.  With a suppressor and longer barrel this thing would be mean at long range :)

Oh it's cool AA. We all get defensive sometimes. It's definitely something I've had to work on with these online forums :)

sorry maybe a bit late, but just another +1 for the KMP9s accuracy and range. i can hit a man size target with .25s only aiming a bit upward (3-4mm above target) and i can hit from 150-175, first or second try. And when they hit i can hear the hit on their masks, guns, sometimes even the gear. Low wind and indoors though...

I can hit people out at 150-200 feet with my mp9.  I haven't adjusted the hop up yet but If I aim above any target from that far away, I can usually get them.  I am using G&G .28 bb's right now because the mag won't accept the tsd's that I normally use.  I just purchased some KWA .25s though but anyway, I really think this gun could be used in field with the accuracy I am getting with it, you'd just have to have ALOT of mags.  Which aren't cheap.

I realize this is a necropost, but you (Grady the Scot) mentioned having connections for an extended ttb for the mp9. I have recently purchased my own and wondering who or where this connection might be...

I don't get more than 100 feet until the BBs spin off in all directions while using .20g BBs. However, using .25s, my accurate range is up to 150 feet. I'm extremely anxious to try some .30g BBs in it. This little gun has some serious firepower for its size.
