My kmp9 bolt wont lock back anymore. I believe it is the spring in this picture:

The spring is a little stretched out in one part. Is this the trigger spring? I know there is a replacement for it in the shop. Do you guys think this is even the problem?

Same thing has happened to me......

***But i just now found and read a solution that worked for me, that was in this forum.

Fill the mag with gas and 3bbs.

Then run the mag under warm water for a few seconds or warm it up somehow.

Dry the mag, and shoot all 3 in semi (thats just what i did) and it locked back

 :iiam: Honestly, it sounds more like you are having an issue with the mag not engaging the slide lock.  Not sure how warming the mag can affect that but you can't argue with success...right?

yeah i know it is VERY weird.

I put an empty mag in and pull the charging handle, and it doesnt lock.

I put the warm mag and shoot, and it locks.

I am very scared my baby is ruined.

***Alright, so i put an empty mag with no gas, pull it back and it locks.

i put an empty mag WITH gas, pull it back it doesnt lock, but shoot once and it locks.

Do you know anyone with a new/fresh mag?  I would try one to see if you have the same problem.  This way you can narrow it down to the mag or the gun.  Can you post a picture of your mag, top left.  This could help us determine if the mag is the culprit too.  My guess is that it's the mag an not the gun.  Either way it fixable.   :gun:

Well, I was being very anxious when writing those. And was typing, and then trying to solve my problem. Ive decided it is the mag, because my other, newer mag worked flawlessly (the newer one was the no gas no bb) after i put gas and bbs in it.

And im sorry if these arent the pics of the mags your looking for, its just kinda hard to find the 'top left' of the mag when technically any part of the mag could be top left depending on how you look at it so, Sorry lol ^_^

No worries, you guessed right regarding the orientation of the mag for "top left".   Looking at your picture you can see the small metal part that comes up when the BBs are all emptied from the mag.  Its tough to tell from the picture if the part of the BB follower that engages the bolt locking mechanism is damaged. This part pushes on the locking lever inside the gun and causes the bolt to lock back. If you compare your two mags does that part of the malfunctioning mag appear damaged?  If so, this could be your problem.  Here is a service advisory that better describes the issue: http://www.kwausa.co...?showtopic=1658

Hope this helps. :gun:

Alright Awesome Thank You. And yeah when holding the mags perpendicular to each other they 'bolt presser-upper' is the same height, but im thinking that maybe its curved in the corner so its not catching. Thanks again

I had a similar problem with my new KMP9r.  It turned out to be the follower in the mag.  I must have damaged it when I release the spring a few times without bb's in it.    My fix was simple.  I took the follower out and filed down the edges on top and bottom of that part that sticks out of the mag when its empty causing the slide to lock back. Seems that the impact kind of mushroomed the top of that little piece creating a sharp edge that caused the mag to jam not engaging the slide lock.  Took me 5 minutes to fix and my follower is even smoother to operate now after the fix.

It's very simple actually.
1. Make sure the mag is completely empty of gas and bb's
2. You will need a pin punch and a small hammer
3. At the bottom of the mag you will see 2 pins perpendicular to the base. Just take the pin punch and punch those pins out.
4. After the pins are out you can pull the base off. On the base you will see a rubber square seal/gasket and a metal tube attached to it. Don't lose those because they can fall off
5. Then you can pull the spring out followed by the follower. And that's it.

Putting it back on is a bit tricky though because the holes in the base and the mags don't line up unless you push the base up hard against the mag. It may help to have someone push the base while you put the pins back in. But be careful not to bend the pins. They are long and can bend if you try to hammer it in when the hole don't align. And make sure to put a light coat of silicone oil on the square gasket for A good seal before you put the base back on.  Hope this helps.
