I am curious, those of you with the KM16BR, what kinda muzzle velocity are you seeing when you spring settles with .2g bb's? I know most of us don't use .2g bb's, neither do I, but they are often the base line bb weight for measuring muzzle velocity and setting restrictions, which is why I use them as a base line. Here in Ohio, most of our major events are limited to the following:

0-350fps no engagement distance semi or full
351-400 fps 25 feet min semi and full
401-450 fps 50 feet min semi only
451-500 fps 75 feet min bolt action only
501-550 fps 100 feet min bolt action only

Granted there is a 2% tolerance, so approx up to 410 is allowed. I mostly use semi, so its not much of a loss to be limited to semi only, but I am curious at the average. I use an 11.1v LiPo, so full auto would empty my mag in about 15 seconds, but I do like to do bursts if I have to shoot through foliage, in that case its useful.

I don't own any KWAs, (yet....) but I think an M130 should put you around 410 fps unless your compression is amazing.  The KWA M4s usually settle at around 390ish I believe, so an M130 should put you at around 410.

If you get an Edgi barrel, a concave spacer, and continue using .3s, you will have a nice DMR, so the semi auto only thing wouldn't be too bad. :)

Actually if you put a m130 spring in with the stock KWA M4 barrel you should be expecting anywhere around 440-450. If you put a PDI .05 or a Prommy .03 tightbore you'd better be expecting some velocity within the 460-480 if your using M4 length. I gotta PDI .05 in my M4S with a sp130 spring and its shooting 475fps +/- 5fps. If your running the stock barrel 440-450 should be the velocity range. Unless you've gotta airleak somewhere.

He probably means 485-490. My M4S has a Systema M130 Spring, Systema Type 0 cylinder and Jbu 407mm TB and mine has settled at almost consistent 475fps w/.20. Down from 499fps when I first put it in. The springs on the KWA guns (at least the m4) is alot shorter than most aftermarket springs, so the KWA spring will probably not push out as many fps as aftermarket when settled. IMO

That's kinda what I was looking for, I know the stock springs are a little weaker than after market springs, but considering our limitations for AEG muzzle velocities I listed above that's exactly what I want. My other alternative was to put in a guarder or systema SP or M 120 series, KWA gearbox has pretty good compression stock, so I don't see any issues if I needed to go that rout, but the stock M130(more like an M120) should be just about perfect for my purposes, if it settles at 410 with .2g's, I should still be full auto legal as that's pretty close to 400.

Also that just shows the quality of a KWA gearbox, my SLR has a guarder SP120, which is probably more like the spring rate of KWA's M130, but it only shoots 405 with .2's and that's WITH completely upgraded cylinder/piston/nozzle sets and a TB barrel. So I think KWA's tweaks really all come together and work well out of the box.

Currently its can bottom capable, although that can be an inaccurate test the bottoms of cans very from can to can and company to company,  but its a decent ball park estimate. My CA SLR as 403~405 on an actual chrono, but it would only crack or barely go through the bottom, my KWA cleanly goes through and even puts a dent in the top of the can, so its pushing around 410~430 range right now with a stock barrel, I have a promy 6.03 coming soon, so if it settles at 410 i'm good to go!

Alright, so it seems the general consensus is anywhere from 410(minimum) up to 440. I've heard people say they are getting those velocity's with .25g bb's. Generally measures are taken in reference to .2g bb's, so if you use the heavier bb and only see a small drop in velocity that means KWA has some extremely efficient airseals/nozzle designs. I only use .2g as my test measure because that's what we go by for reference, I use .25g or .30g in the field depending on the purpose and weapon.

Generally in most other AEG's with the TM standard designs you don't see 475+ unless you running a M140 spring, here people are seeing those velocity's with the KWA M130 which is more like a M125(between a M120~M130 after market). KWA's gearbox design is quite well done! In fact the only area I can think of for seal improvement would be an o-ring on the inside of the nozzle, but it may not be necessary as there may be negligent pressure loss from back pressure.
