I don't know what to do now. I was playing at my local airsoft field and it was 8 degrees outside today and lots of snow. I came home and started cleaning up my gun and once I got to the gearbox I noticed the front half was snapped off. I couldn't believe it! The gun still shoots, but I need to get it replaced because I don't want to shoot it anymore with the possiblility of damageing anything else. Does the warranty cover this on my gun or will I need to get a new gearbox? Please resond fast, I have another game to go to on the 27th.

I doubt the warranty would cover that since you were playing in such extreme conditions.  V2s should never really be used in weather under 40 degrees from what I hear. (even if they are reinforced like the KWA)

Call and ask them if you need a quick answer

It's worth a shot. I would give them a call if I were you.

This is the reason why we don't play AEG out in the cold.  Metal will become brittle in cold temperature.  You are most like going to need to buy a new shell.

I assume that kwa probably won't take my gearbox anyways because I already upgraded the internals with after market parts like a guarder aluminum ported piston head.

Yeah... there is no warranty on your gearbox.   And even more unfortunate we are completely out of replacement shell.   I'll let you know when the new shell arrive.

That sucks. You may want to consider buying another gearbox if you need it soon.

The new "revised" shells may be worth waiting for. ETA is Jan, 2009. ;)

What do these gearboxes offer over the ones we already have?

reinforced trigger block posts is one that I can think of.

That and maybe a reinforced front end because that seems to be a chronic problem in KWA's, or most V2's.

Just to set the record straight so this does not turn into another grossly exaggerated "broken trigger post" issue and get spread to other forums as an KWA epidemic. ;) There are only less than 1% of documented cases.  We are aware of the weaknesses and have already or will be addressing them in the next product release.

That's good to know.  Hopefully what I hear is the "CA band wagon" band wagon deal.  :)
