I found some time to strip my AEGs apart for a tune up since we are getting ready for a bivouac game.

1st tune up was on 85,000+ rounds and I swapped the stock spring to an SP130, used a Deepfire Piston body, stock spring guide to a Guarder bearing Spring guide and used Guarder piston head bearings with the stock Piston head.

A few mags later, I swapped the Guarder Spring guide and used the stock KWA Spring guide aswell as the stock KWA Piston body just to see how long this baby can last. The only aftermarket part left was the Guarder SP130 and the Guarder Bearings on the piston head.

The stock 85k+ round old Piston Body was able to stand 35k+ more rounds with an SP130.

Note that I have been using an 11.8v 15c lipo.

The switch assembly is intact! A few wear marks but could still take some more beating.
Normal switches burn even with a 9.6 nicad. This was used with an 11.8v Lipo.

Little wear on the gears. Id rate it 8 over 10

Stripped the grease off using gasoline.

Bearing type bushings is still tight.

Piston head shows some wear. The bearings for the Piston head are from Guarder.

The KWA washer type spring guide shows how the spring rubbed against it. If you compare the wear on the washer type spring guide and the Guarder Bearing type spring guide, it shows that the bearing type would work better. Something KWA has to improve on.

Very little wear on the pinion.

The Sector gear had this crack on the fixed washer thing that i mentioned in the first tune up. It does not affect the AEGs performance in any way.

Airseal nozzle looks okay! I did test the Cylinder head/Cylinder/nozzle pressure and showed that it had no leaks.

Posted Image

Cylinder Head. Cylinder head nozzle wobbles a bit but no leaks.

Posted Image

Gearbox is in A+ condition! It snaps back on!!!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Some wear by the sector chip. nothing to worry about cause i think it ate its way thru so i just grease that part

Posted Image

The anti reverse shows some wear but is okay. The tappet plate is okay.

The first time i took the bushings out of the gearbox I had to mark where i took it from so i woudnt mess with how they were shimmed since there were NO shims! But I was surprised to put them back together (without marking them) and locked the gearbox to check and they were spinning like i spent 10 mins to reshim! Awesome precision crafting by KWA.

This is how I have my batteries intact not showing from outside the rails. My gun needs cleaning   and I have to oil some corroded parts

Im putting them all back together (regreased) and will use this for the bivouac tourney

I wish every company would take the time to listen.....

I think a great addition to your guns would be a Mosfet.  Not a fancy one, (no need for 3 round burst and all that) but something like this

KWAs seem to handle the high voltage fine, but this would be an extra reinsurance and I think it would boost your sales dramatically. Not to mention it wouldn't cost your company much.

just a thought

Good idea.  I don't own any KWA products yet, but I might have to if they start offering an AK-47 series. I'm already getting my dream gun....G36K :) (SRC)

Just got back from the 24 hour bivouac game. I had 2 bags of .25s and ended up with 3/4s of the 2nd bag... that should be around 5k rounds.  Damn I love night ops ! =P

It ends up costing more than buying an SRC G36K.  The scope carrying handle is around 60 alone, then you have to buy a handguard, longer barrel, and a longer stock. (C stocks are shorter, so it won't be "correct")  That adds up to around the same price.  (I believe it's actually more)

I see no point in doing that when I could just buy another gun and then have a K and C.  (Ask D4mnit on ASF)

You mean the KWA gearbox?  If you do that, you will either have to change the air nozzle, or swap out the magwell and hop up unit for a KWA one.

You are talking about Type 2 gearbox or Type 3 gearbox?

Well I believe he was referring to dropping in a KWA gearbox into an SRC G36K, so I was talking about V3. (hence swapping out the magwell and such)

D4mnit has done this.  He know has an "SRC" G36C and a "KWA" G36K. (swapped gearboxes)
