Please help me gather some intels.  Post in this thread your local airsoft field FPS limits including indoor CQB arena and outdoor fields. If available, separate listings for different weapons; GBB Pistols, AEG, GBBR, DMR, Sniper, and Support (SAW gunner).  Please also include location of the fields. Thank you!!!

Engagement Rules

Article 15: The following are the minimum distance engagement limits for airsoft replicas. This is the closest a player can engage another player with a replica rated in the following feet per second (fps) categories using full-auto, semi-auto, or single shot capability. See Article 16 for extremely close quarter player elimination.

As of April 24, 2009, these rules include a 10fps "tolerance zone". Players will be allowed onto the field if their weapons shoot up to 10.0 fps over the published limit.

OUTDOOR/OPEN FIELD ENGAGEMENT LIMITS

• 1.0 - 340.9 fps - Arms length engagement limit

• 341.0 - 400.9 fps - 20 foot engagement limit

• 401.0 - 540.9 fps – 50 foot engagement limit, bolt action or permanent* semi-auto replicas only

• 541.0+ fps - Prohibited or allowed with permission of event organizer only

*Permanent semi-auto refers to replicas that do not have full-auto fire capability, no matter how the selector switch or other user input device is manipulated.

INDOOR/CLOSE QUARTER BATTLE (CQB)/ENCLOSED FIELD ENGAGEMENT LIMITS

• 1.0 - 340.9 fps – Arms length engagement limit

• 341.0+ fps – prohibited or allowed with permission of event organizer only

Engagement limits are based on averaged fps readings using .20 gram weight bb’s only. The method for acquiring an airsoft replica’s average fps is to fire multiple (more than 2) shots through a chronograph, record the readings, add the fps readings together and divide by the total number of readings.
Gas operated airsoft replicas should be chronographed using a “warm” ambient temperature gas supply (i.e. magazine), or with heating device functioning if used during the cold season.
No allowance is made for airsoft replicas that have an average reading close to the lower end of the next highest fps category. Example- if the replica has an average reading of 351.5 fps it falls within the 20 foot engagement limit.

Again, these rules include a 10fps "tolerance zone". Players will be allowed onto the field if their weapons shoot up to 10.0 fps over the published limit.

I live in Eastern MA. The indoor CQB field I'm a member at has a 350 FPS limit (.20 BBs) semi-auto only. The outdoor fields in MA, Southern NH and RI vary from 370 FPS to 400 FPS with .20 BBs. Snipers usually around 500 FPS.

Hope to run into you.  FYI, GF allows full auto under some situations.  Usually it's when everyone is over 17yo and I complain about it!!!

Hopefully we can all hook up together at some time and play, but It'd be rare for me, dad doesn't like driving for two hours to sit around and do nothing.

Dont even bother . Its literally someones back yard and is a complete ghetto field. Its $25.00 to go shoot in a hillbilly backyard. I was there and its run like complete a**. Only the so called "good players" get placed together . Every game we played our team won cause they never put the "good players" on opposite teams . It got so boring that I actually joined the other team mid-game just to get some action.

Still figuring out the FPS limits for the field we play at, but I just went to an op over at Mount Doom where the following rules were in effect:
~<330 FPS w/0.2g: full auto in CQB (0 ft MED)
~<415 FPS w/0.2g: semi-auto only in CQB (0 ft MED), 30 ft MED on full auto
Support weapons (DMR / SAW): 60 ft MED, no CQB what-so-ever (We got several kills due to the respective parties not having backup weapons, heh)
Snipers (bolt-action, up to 550 FPS): 60 ft MED

Obviously, bang kills were optional courtesies. As noted above I had several guys try to bang kill me from behind a wall with a support weapon, and I just proceeded to lean around the corner and put a round in their torso. Much bitching ensued, but when you're rocking a stock Cyma AK you get points for awesome kills :D

AOSC (Airsoft Organization of South Carolina) FPS Rules and limits:
Rule #7: The following is a list of minimum engagement rules. A minimum engagement distance is the closest you can get to another player and fire upon them.

With .20 gram BB's:

FPS Minimum Engagement Fire Selection

450-600 100 feet Semi or bolt action only

400-449 50 feet Semi or bolt action only

341-399 20 feet Full auto

0-340 None Full auto

The exception to the FPS limits and MEDs above occurs on any field deemed by the Game Directors to be a CQB field. On all CQB fields there is an absolute limit of 340FPS with a .20 gram BB (~305FPS with a .25, etc.). Full auto is allowed and there is no MED. With direct approval from the AOSC Game Director Representative hosting a particular CQB game, a player may use an airsoft gun on semi auto only that is higher than 450 FPS with a .20, but not more than 600FPS with a .20. They will have a 100ft MED. Also, with said direct approval a player may use a bolt action airsoft gun from 341FPS-600FPS with a .20, they will have a 100ft MED. Only players who have proven themselves responsible and rule abiding will be given this permission, and players under the age of 18 may not obtain it. This permission is on a case by case basis per game.

NCAO (North Carolina Airsoft Organization) FPS Rules and Limits:
The standard ammunition for NCAO events is 6mm bbs. All weapon velocity testing will be completed using .25g bbs. There is no restriction on bb weight during play as long as the weapon is calibrated to the velocity restrictions below. 8mm bb weapons are permitted as long as they conform to velocity standards (Joule conversion will be based on similar energy from standard 6mm, .25g ammunition). Metal clad or all metal bbs are not permitted. Although graphite coated 6mm bbs are permitted. Projectiles containing paint or other “marking” substances are not permitted.

Any combination of internal modifications can be used to maintain these limits. If your weapon shoots over the limit, it will be excluded from use. There will be no “grace” range. Please remember that these are limits, not goals. If your weapon has a variance of velocities when firing multiple rounds, make sure the highest velocity shot is still below the limits.

All weapons used in an event will be chronographed before being allowed on the field. Weapons MAY be chronographed upon leaving the field as well.

Anyone caught tampering with the Chrono markings on their gun (ie changing a non-CQB legal gun to a CQB marking), will be ejected from the event and suspended/banned according to Section II-8.

Experienced players that have left an officially recognized NCAO team to either go independent or form their own team, may be permitted to continue to use a weapon firing above the standard 400fps (w/.25g bb) limit with the approval of the Team Leader Council.

Individual fields and events may have different rules governing Field Velocity Limits and BBs and should be specified beforehand. If different from the NCAO rules, they will be explained prior to the event. Please check for any variation prior to attending.
