So I am looking at buying a new KWA next week. I really want the KM4 SR5 because of how small it is but I want to be shooting 400 FPS. Can I purchase the SR5 body but with the M16 gear box? If not what other ways can I get this done? I thought about buying the M16 and changing out the stock and front end but that just seems like a waste of cash.

I really want to stick with everything KWA as it would be cheaper and more reliable but if I have to I might just buy the new gear box and motor and throw on my own front end and stock.

I am in this situation because I had the 2nd generation CQB M4 and wanted it to shoot 400 fps and ended up having issues. So I figured with all the new upgrades that KWA has done it would be a perfect time to get my hands on another KWA.

Thats what I did with my CQB M4 then it stripped my first tooth on the piston. Then I had to get a new piston and it ended up pulling the teeth out of the new piston. So now I am kinda paranoid and don't want to  mess with the new gun if I don't have to. Although I am considering this and putting in a Mosfet while I am at it.

The KWA gearbox can take up to an m150.  At that level careful shimming is required but an m120 should be fine.  :gun:

Understandable but like I said earlier. I had my old gun for 2 years without issues but the moment I upgraded the spring to an m120 everything started to fail so I would rather have it already done by KWA as it would save time and money.

the addition of a tbb (6.01mm) will increase your fps a bit(better air seal behind bb)  That will get you a bit closer to 400fps....probably around 370 fps.

I dont have a chrono, but my SR5 with a cbq length 6.01mm edgi can completely puncture the bottom of a coke can with .20g bb's.

The 2GX KWA gearbox can easily take an M120.  I know this because that's what's in mine.
You aren't going to get that high of FPS without one. That's just how it works, there's not enough force behind it.
The only other remedy I can think of is an M110 and a 6.01mm tightbore barrel, but even that might not get all the way there.
