i just got the 1911 mark IV. i was wondering can i field strip it ? i was looking at the kp45 match but my friend talked me into getting 1911. i love the 1911 look so i bought it. No manual comes with it so ?

Just got my MKIV, awesome piece, very happy! :)

However I'm not familiar with the conical barrel guns and can't figure out how to get the barrel assembly out of the slide once I have removed it, any help would be appreciated.

It's a little tight, but it should slide right out...

The key is removing the recoil rod.  

You'll need a paper clip bend into L shape first.  Pull back the recoil rod bushing, see the small hold in front?  put the paper clip there and block the recoil bushing going forward. Then wiggle the recoil rod out from the back.  It's bit a chore but once you get used to it then it's not that bad.  Once the recoil rod is out, the barrel assembly can push forward out of the slide.
