I've heard many gear box horror stories of degrading your spring.  I really want to play in a few games coming up in a month or two and the limit is 350 FPS.  My question is if I degrade the stock 120 to a 100 and use a 9.6V battery, will I cause a lot of stress on the gears?  Or can I continue to use 11.1V lipo.

No, I'm not a cheater and will not lube the barrel and turn the hopup all the way up during the chrono.

Nevermind.. I answered my own question.

Easiest way would be to get a Velocity Reduction Adapter.  $15-20

Okay, velocity reducers are not permitted.  So, will changing out spring to a 100 and 9.6V battery do the trick without putting any harm to the gun?

youre downgrading...why would it harm your gun?

IMO you should just let your spring settle to 350fps with .25 BBs And save yourself the hastle of taking your gearbox apart and risking the chance of ruining your guns compression.
