is there a way to remove the front sight?

Yeah, remove the screws. I think you can with an allen wrench.

You need to knock out the pins with a hammer.

M4A1:
To remove the front gas block/sight, you'll need to remove the sling attachment by tapping out the roll pins and then drive out the solid pins on the block itself. The entire assembly slides off of the barrel. You'll get a better understanding by looking at the parts diagram.

CQB:
the only difference between the standard and the CQB front sight are the sling attachments. CQB does not have part number 277, instead, the sling attaches to the bottom of the front sight.

I posted both just incase you had a CQB or a M4A1
