I have a 1911DS PTP and have noticed 2 issues,
1. When I removed the slide catch and try to reinsert it back it will not go in. What is happening is the little horizontal pin right by the slide catch is preventing it from going into proper position. So what I did is use a pick to push the pin further back so that I can push the slide catch in its proper position. Wondering if you guys are having the same issue.

2. The safety on the gun will lock the slide from going back even though the hammer is NOT cocked. Anyone experiencing the same issue?

1. You may have a squared magazine catch.  The part that goes through the slot is squared and hits the plunger.  You can alleviate this by slightly filing the catch to a round or angled edge so the plunger just rides through

2. That is normal on our rendition of the 1911, the safety is designed to work with the hammer in the down position.
