I want to separate the locking block and hop-up assembly from the inner barrel.  How?

DK,

the locking block is retained by a pin which can be pushed out. Be careful there is a spring between the outer barrel and the locking block; it is easy to take out, but not so simple to put it back in.

Thanks, is this the only way to remove the inner barrel?

Yes,  you'll need to punch out part# 328, 332, 336(qty 2), and 334.
