I've had this since around the beginning of May and let me tell you, this thing was a beast! I own that and a CA m15a4. I usually do a little internal cleaning in both rifles, like wipe the outer and inner barrel of the hopup, wipe off any excessive lubricant on the outer gearbox, but absolutely not the internals of the gearbox, since i'm not familiar with any of the internals just yet.

I had a 10.8v Ni-Mh battery with it.  Well, I started to think, using a high voltage battery would shorten the life of any gearbox, so I downed it to a 9.6v afterwards. Well, recently a few days ago..I went back to the 10.8v just to fire a few times with it and the gun all of a sudden stops shooting. Not just instantly, but as if a car was running out of gas, it slowed down, then just stopped completely. Now again, this was the 10.8v.

So, I checked to see if the plugs were fully connected and nothing was loose visually, then I checked the fuse, looks fine..nothing burnt, nothing dark or brown. So that's when I started to get more worried. So I decided to plug in the 9.6v to see if that would work, but it didn't. So I took apart the gun and begin to switch out parts from the KWA and the CA m15a4, detachable ones at that. Ex., Motor and Fuse;

I took the KWA motor AND fuse and plugged it up to the CA m15a4 and both worked fine.
The CA m15a4 motor and fuse into the KWA; nothing.

So it all leads to something electrical..Now i've been looking into some airsoft forums and people are saying it could be a selector plate or something, which is onto the gearbox. Now, as for being kind of new to this, I've taken apart the KWA m4a1 several times, but never taken out the gearbox. For some reason it won't allow me to. Now is there anyone that can tell me how to remove the gearbox from the lower receiver? Or perhaps a website that has a video/clip on how to do that as well.

As for one more thing, when I've taken apart both rifles 3 little pieces came out, I don't know which rifle they came from but one spring went to a hopup from the CA m15a4, the other 2 pieces..I don't know, will someone tell me if they belong somewhere important?

There are a ton of video on youtube. this might be of help to you. Its for a ICS split gearbox but the dissasemble should be the same for the lower reciever... I think  :huh:

Me and a friend of mine took it apart and nothing seems to be broken or missing. We sure it has to be the electrical wires that are burnt out. Does anyone use a 10.8v battery? If so, use caution because it might over heat your wires just like it did mine.

Can you buy electrical wires designed for the KWA m4? Or is it similar to every other m4?

This actually happened to me yesterday. My KWA m4 stopped firing as well, an electrical problem too. I was recommended to use systema or g&p wiring.

Here are a ton of wire sets on ASGI. Click HERE to look at them.
