Need Help with P226 PTP

Hello guys,
     I want to replace the back sight on the P226 PTP, however, I don't know how to remove it, can you help?  Also, 1 of the spring for the cylinder return is torned, I would like to replace it, however, I don't see it for sell on the Proshop, please point me to the right direction of where to get it/

the replacement part is not listed, however you can request it if you use the "Contact Us" function.


The rear sight is secured by friction in a dovetail.  The proper way to remove it is to use a rear sight drift tool, however you can probably secure the slide in a vice and use a plastic punch to drive it out.

Note that we would not recommend removing the rear sight (unless it's already damaged) since the more you move the rear sight, the looser the dovetail will get.  Eventually the dovetail won't hold a rear sight.  Seek a professional's help if you are unsure.
