Old version is 2x9mm 4x8mm.  You have gen 1.

We never made any 6mm bearing gearbox.  That was a typos I didn't catch.

Tests showed no advantage vs ported.

the stock pistonhead engages with an "air brake" without the need for ports.  The air nozzle also prevents any potential from sucking bbs during draw.

In a sense, the engineers have found ways around many old beliefs and modifications such as shimming, ported piston heads, single piece hopup unit, and rounded air nozzles.  It's just unnecessary with our gun.

the old m16 br had 4 8mm and 2 9mm... i hear thats going to be changed on the m16 2gx...

on the internals; no pics, it looks like the spur gear has reinforced axles and on the bottom it looks like 2 gears (much like the 2gx in the pictures from the post originator)

im going to upload pictures of the box, to see what you think it is... im pretty sure its 1st gen since there in no writing or engravements on the outside, and in its got 4 8mm's and 2 9's for the bearings (m16br). or maybe they are all nine, its to hard to tell because of that just 1 mm difference and i wasnt able to take them out...  and for whatever reason, the corners to my cylinder window were not rounded, so i did them (radius) to help reduce stress...

it came stock with an m120 spring... 1st gen body... im not sure, its kind of odd, the spur and sector gear are like the same as the ones in the pictures, but the teeth on the bevel arent angled (or maybe, i didnt really look)... ahhaha is it fake??? O.o   OH AND THE bearings, you can see the ball bearings, they dont look like hex nuts they, you can see each little round ball like the 2gx images shown earlier

this is the box... (for what ever reason, i cant upload the rest of the images but its a close up on the words, they say:

-high torque motor
-reinforced metal gearbox
-metal spring guide with bearing
-High grade metal alloy construction
-8mm and 9mm ball bearing bushings
-case hardened, precision metal gear sets
-Lithium Polymer battery ready (max 11.1v 1600mah 18a)

nothing engraved to the gearbox, but the gears look like 2gx... it came with a 1g bucking, ummmm yah, ive only seen comparisons for m4's not m16's so i dont know for sure...

my piston has a darker metal tooth, not silver/grey, more black like, with reinforcements on the first tooth..

the only thing mine is missing, is the engraving... but if someone has a 2gx m16, PLEASE UPLOAD PICS... :D

I think you may have the 1.75 gearbox or the 1.5 gearbox.... either way that box belongs to a 1st generation which can be determined by the old engraving.  If your gun has the same engraving as the engraving on the box, then it is not a 2gx gearbox.

ok then... im may switch to a 2gx shell... curious, will the gears from this one fit in the new shells?

will it come with all the 9mm bearins preinstalled (just the shells for $90?)

I have an A&k massada, and I was wondering if The 2gx gearbox would fit?

After 2 years of use, finally i cracked my Ver.1 (or Ver1.5, Ver1.75, I dont known) gearbox, not in cold weather :)
only upgrades i had made is:
Systema Type 0
Prommy 407, sometimes EDGI 509 barrels
Guarder SP130 Spring. Which is already weaker than new
Guarder Sping Guide
Bearings from Guarder Piston Head

I dont know reason why it happened. may be because, After I bought G&P M180 Satan motor, replace stock motor with it and try to adjust motor height. I had only 5-7 shoots on semi and 2 shoots burst for checking. After that disassemble AEG and see crack on gearbox shell.

Already placed order at airsoftgi and bought KWA 2G gearbox shell. I am plan to put SP140, shim gears, replace motor and install ASCU 2.
sorry for my English.

Finally I received gearbox shell from airsoftgi, its cost is $90 and it is Gen 1 not Gen 2. They declare it like 2GX gearbox. I am deceived :(
