Yeah I was doing some research on metals and ways that they can become harder, better, faster and stronger (DAFT PUNK lol)  :shiftyninja:

Solution 1:

So anyways the solutions to make gears basically take anything, what you need to do is to produce a cast steel gear that has approximately 1% carbon, .7 to 1.1% chromium, and .2 to .4% molybdenum that gives you a cast steel know as chromium molybdeum steel. (correct me if i am wrong)  Take this cast gear and then next heat treat it.  Than next coat the outside of the gear with compounded manufactured diamond (The stuff that went into making the  balistics disks for Dragon armor) and there you go.  Also coating the piston and other parts with diamond also would be benifical due to the fact that if you don't the diamond may wear out other componets faster due to its hardness level at 8 to 9 (talking about manufactured diamond not true diamond. True diamond hardness is at 10)  But if diamond coating is a problem or even seems like a problem it should be skipped all together.

Solution 2:

The second solution is the make the whole entire gear out of manufactured compounded diamond.  Not much of the diamond is required due to its strength (the diamond will make up the skeleton of the inside of the gear to make a type of support skeleton)  Then the outer gear will be coated with chromium molybdenum steel and also heat treat to form an awesome amount of strength (BUT!!! beware of course if you make steel too hard is just breaks on contact pretty much but that takes quite a bit of hardness and no flex so heat treating may/may not be the best choice depending on steel hardness

Of couse these two solutions are just ideas for Kwa 2010 gears but if implimented, just think of the possibilities   The solution to making these synthetic diamonds is a process know as HPHT or simply put High pressure and High temperature which is the cheap way to make synthetic diamonds.  As we go along I believe that solution 2, possible, is very very hard to do but if done can produce a very good gear indeed.  Solution 1 already offers a immensly good gear if done properly with a bit of testing to see what percentages to add and if heat treating is good/bad and also if coating the gears with synthetic diamond is possible/beneficial.

Your indestructible gears comes at a price that not many will pay or can afford. ;)

Same materials with different ratio might be possible.

Whats wrong with the current KWA gears? They are already awesome, and almost indestructible. I dont see a need for a new gear design. I think you guys are just getting bored, and trying to think of ways to improve something that is already perfect. I have never heard of a KWA gear wearing out or breaking. I think they are great as they are now.

Yeah!!! Alright SPIGGY WOOT!!!! And Spiggy... I look like you for some reason...  :shiftyninja:  or do you look like me... hmmm  Kwa should make a KTW lol  Full steel bodies, nylon stocks and full chromium molybdenum internals with new gearbox designs and bolts (cylinders shaped like real action bolts that carry springs and piston like a systema cylinder sorta and with a open gearbox design

I'm in for design team. If you could make those gears you would be freaking rich. Even better with pistons. The gears are exspensive to design. But if you could offer these as aftermarket you could be rich. We need some of the guys from ASM to help with this.

very possible, just have properly shimmed Infinite ratio gears a good full Ti half-toothed piston with a spring below m140 + g2x gearbox.
Given that it has good compression it should be indestructible*.

*changing Piston and bushings/bearings and re shimming is considered a mandatory thing after a certain number of rounds.
