I am considering putting a longer inner barrel in my KG36C (with an outer barrel extension to match, of course).  But, I don't want to have to crack open the KWA gearbox.  So, what is the longest inner barrel I could put on it without having to change anything in the gearbox, and without having losing FPS/range?

you should be able to use standard 363mm.

How hard would it be to put a 363mm Prommy 6.03 in there with 2G bucking?

I had air seal problems when I tried a Prometheus inner barrel with a 2G bucking in my KWA G36C.

The pro shop doesn't have a 363 edgi, but it does have a 395.  Could I put that on a stock KG36C without having to modify anything in the gearbox, and without losing performance?

Theoretically, yes, as the cylinder is large enough to accommodate the barrel.  This is, after careful consideration of the length.

By the way, you can't slide your flash hider over the barrel, the hole isn't big enough.

Well yeah I'd need to get something to extend the outer barrel longer.

So does that mean it uses the same cylinder as the KM4A1?

No.  The port on the G36 is further forward than the M4A1 cylinder therefore they do not use the same cylinder.

So the 395 would be too long for the KG36C?  I'm confused.

The cylinder on the KG36c is the same cylinder as the old generation guns prior to the 2nd Revision.   It's acceptably sized for the standard length M4 barrel (363mm).

Just be wary of the type of barrel you install, some have a larger outer diameter that may stick in the outer barrel assy.

I just installed a 363 mm 6.01 edgi.  While it was a tight fit in the outer barrel, I got it in.  Initial tests showed a 10-15 fps increase with .25 BBs.  I haven't been able to test accuracy yet but I can't think of why it would be worse with this inner barrel (unless I put the bucking in crooked or something).
