I'm interested in fitting one of these to my CQR but I'm having difficulty determining if its a drop in or if I will have to do modifications and if so how much.  I have two JP real steel rifles and since I use the cqr for 3 gun practice in the backyard I would like to get them closer in feel.  The cqr with 12" rail would be near identical to my 9mm AR.

I know I have to do a re-wire of some kind.  I'm more concerned about the thread compatibility and removal of the delta ring.  I read some places its a drop in and others reference the madbull rethreading die.  Also read that the delta ring is loctited on.

If the handguard is a drop in on another kwa rifle vs a PITA on the cqr I might consider picking up a new rifle.

Please let me know what you know.
Thanks
Bob

It looks like that rail is a free float, so you're either going to need one of the guns that has a free float rail on it, or take the delta ring off and put on a barrel nut. If you go this route, you'll have some amount of loctite on the delta ring, and the link I'm about to post is a good way to soften it and get it off: http://www.kwausa.co...showtopic=12681 So far it seems like this could be a drop in on one of the other KWA guns that have a barrel nut and a free float rail.
