MP7 fires even when there is no BB

Hello Everyone!

So lets get right to the problem... My gun fires well and accurate just like before this problem, however a week ago I was shooting the gun it all worked. Then when I finished shooting I noticed a small metal part that was from my gun (picture below) It came from the side of the bolt assembly. Could this be the reason that my gun fires even when there are no bbs left in the mag? Would continue firing it further damage the gun even if I was very conscious about the count of bbs in the chamber?

On that picture I am pointing with the Alan key where the part came off...

The bolt catch engages the bolt on the bottom of the bolt on the left side. The damage in the pictures you provided will not prevent the bolt catch from engaging the bolt. The most common problem that causes bolt catch failure is the magazine follower.
