So I decided that I wanted to get a metal hop up unit for my SR10, and I bought one, this guy: http://www.airsoftgi...roducts_id=9531

The problem is I was so very stupid and decided not to actually check if that's the type of hop up the SR10 uses, and it's not. So when I was looking at my gun I thought maybe I could remove the BB ramp and it would work, but upon closer looking it appears that maybe it won't work. So if I remove the BB ramp (which as far as I can tell would require removing the entire gearbox too...) would I be able to use that hop up, or was this a $40 lesson to always check my gun before I order something for it?

Thanks to anyone who is able to help me out on this one, I am feeling rather stupid and ashamed right now.

Unfortunately kwa guns have their own proprietary hop up system(2GX). I haven't heard of other hop ups that work in kwa guns.

Well that really blows, but that's what I get I guess. I'd thought only the bucking was proprietary since I've seen plenty of other M4s running a hop up like that one, but either way... I guess I'll just hang on to the CNC one for a different gun or try to hawk it off to someone or something. Thanks.

Bucking is a 2gx, it only means it's a different material really.

Why change the hop anyways? Just curious.

On some high fps and rof builds it will automatically move the hop up wheel off of your desired setting.
This is a nice hop so the wheel won't move. http://www.evike.com/products/40058/
IT WILL NOT WORK IN KWA PRODUTS.

Cant you just shim the hop arm and tighten down the screw?

Yes, you can do both of those but I don't have the tools/time needed to make and shim the arm. The 2gx screw tightening never really worked for me, it would never stay tightened.
