I've been "tasked" to conduct some cross training on the AK-system manual of arms and my cartridge versions have long been discarded for several reasons but primarily due to the horrible ergonomics. I don't intend to buy another and trips to the range take too much time. I use my LM4 to stand-in for my M4 Carbine in the back yard at least weekly.
I picked up the AKG-74M earlier this week and it handles (manual of arms) and shoots nearly exactly as the cartridge guns did, poor ergonomics and all.
Any tips or hints on keeping the gun in good operation? Been flawless so far other than a couple of flyers on AUTO. I'd like to know how to get at the bucking as my airsoft experience indicates these tend to get oil soaked and need to be periodically cleaned.
Any issues with the magazine follower being used as a bolt stop?
Any and all suggestions/comments appreciated.
Does anyone other than me own a AKG-74M?
