Mods and Staff,

There seem to be quite a few dimensional difference between the LM4/Magpul and MKM. Most obvious is the upper receiver tabs. I was just wondering if the revised one-piece upper receivers will the fit the old LM4 spec'ed receivers? Or will they fit the MKM receivers? If the newer uppers fit the MKM, I would assume that there will also be a revision to the LM4 lower?

I'm trying to gauge how much effort I should put in to tuning/upgrade my Magpul. It just wouldn't make sense to put in a lot of time if I would have to switch over to a new system to use the new receivers. I've also been waiting on the PTS BAD Selector, but I suspect that they may only make it for the MKM, especially if the new LM4s have the same dimensions.

Thanks guys.

The MKM receiver will not fit into the LM4 lower easily. It is possible but requires a bit more effort than usual. The hole that the front body pin goes through on the MKM upper is not as wide as the regular LM4 upper receiver. So if you pin in the MKM upper to a normal KWA LM4 lower, there is a lot of side to side movement. The rear of the MKM upper receiver doesn't even sit into the regular LM4 lower receiver since it is wider. These are just the two obvious differences. Once you take care of these two issues then you might run into other issues. But it seems to me a feasible project, just a lot of shimming and sanding.

Thanks man. I reckon you're right about the necessary modifications. I'm actually more interested in whether the revised one-piece LM4 uppers will fit the old Magpul lowers.

I'm pretty confident the same modifications are needed to fit the Magpul lower since the upper on the Magpul LM4 is just a normal LM4 upper.

Are we talking about the MKM uppers, or the announced but unreleased one-piece milspec-style upper? The later is what I'm most interested in.

I second that. I am eagerly awaiting this fabled one-piece upper for the original LM4 design.
