Hello all,
I have a new CQR Mod1 I've played one game with.  I was getting 260fps with .25's and with the hopup binding in the down postition(it wouldn't turn off for an acurate reading).  I have managed to fix the hopup so it moves freely but haven't had the chance to get it cronoed yet.

Unlike other CQR's, like my son's, mine has a type1 cylinder and what is probably a M100 spring.
You can see the thread here: http://www.kwausa.co...showtopic=12284
  • Once the warrantee expires I would like to get the FPS up to 400 with .25's.  This is the limit of the fields I play on.  I have the .5 cylinder from the ProShop, I need to swap it in plus a new spring.  I know a KWA M120 should put me at or near 350 with .25's.  Any other suggestions from other brands? I know Madbull seems to be a little hotter so maybe a MB 110?
  • I have a Lonex A2 as a spare that I was using in another gun that I may sell.  Would the Lonex be better in the KWA than the KWA motor?
Thanks to you all.

I think i was getting around or slightly higher FPS with a Mad bull M110 Over KWAs M120. Guarder SP120 was hotter.
Mad Bull is a good spring & color coated, so you know what it is.

If you want a different brand spring, try guarder. Honestly, I have a KWA M130 in a RIS and it shoots near 400FPS .25s
And the spring is shorter so it stays put in an opened KWA gearbox better then longer springs.

Remember 400FPS is a limit, not a goal

All are fine choices, guess it comes down to preference. I have a Orga M105 in my sons MOD2 (non KWA cylinder)  and it hasn't dropped much in FPS stays around 309-311FPS with .25s thats about 346FPS using .20s limit is 350FPS

As for the motor, since you have both. Have you though about switching them out? Us the Lonex & keep the KWA as a backup.

Thanks Tales.
I reread your motor thread last night so the Lonex seems to be a much better motor. Thanks

As far as the spring I may just stick with a KWA M120. Might get a m130 just to see. The m130 may put me over 400 though.

Thanks for posting.

Im not sure if my sons RIS uses a type 1 or the 0.5 cylinder. I know his MOD2 had the bottom cylinder, that didn't work well.
I did notice that applying silicone grease to the cylinder head/air nozzle also increases FPS.

Where my son plays they are strict with the 350FPS limit, gcw was a big help when i was trying out springs for the 350 rule. I'd ask gcw, van or niko, they have experience with higher FPS KWAs. Could save you a lot of time & money!

I just had a MagicBox teflon coated 3/4 cylinder, ZCI polycarb ported piston head, and a KWA M130 spring put in my CQR Mod 1 and it is chronoing at about 395fps with .28s.  My field limit is 400 so I am happy with it.

My field sells Hailstorm .28's for us to use.  They are bio because it is an outdoor woodsball field.

I have a shimmed KWA SR7 (.2mm shims on the sector and spur gear) with a KWA M130 spring and a KM Head 395mm 6.02mm barrel (sold on the proshop) installed in my gun. At the moment it is shooting 420 with .25's and 460 with .20's. With my stock SR7 barrel, it drops down to 395 with .25's. If you haven't already upgraded your gun, I would recommend going this route.
