Hello,

I have a gen1 g36c with a 247mm 6.03 prometheus barrel, using kwa 2g bucking/nub.  I converted the gun to a k model so i have lots of space for a different barrel.

Am thinking of switching to a zci 455mm 6.02 and using a g&g green bucking (eventually rhop).   Would i need a new cylinder going from 247 to 455?

Current form minus the m4 magwell, switched back to g36 magazines

I would add a KWA type 0.5 cylinder if I were you.

The type 0.5 is good in a range from 395-509mm.  Actually though, it is optimized for about 425mm.  The gen1 G36C should have the Type 1 KWA cylinder which very well may fork fine but my guess is the 0.5 would be better.

Change of plans.   Decided to upgrade my SR12 first.    Bought a new 455mm inner barrel, Magpul PRS stock, and a new flash hider. Need to save some more $ for the g36 or risk divorce.

Will get new cylinder for g36 or buy a new cylinder for the sr12 and use that cylinder for the g36.    Still debating on 363mm or 455mm barrel.

Update:   I bought a new barrel for my vfc 417, and put the 330mm barrel from the 417 into my g36, moved the 247mm barrel from g36 into an UMG.    I also installed a g&g green bucking into the g36.

I currently only have .28 and this setup has too much overhop.     Things were very straight for 20 yards then straight up.    I have ordered .36, they should arrive later this week.

So i either stick with heaver ammo (should correct the overhop) or i may try a lonex 70d and go back to my .28.     I dont use the g36 much anymore since my RHOP SR12 is shooting so far and straight.
