So I came across this product MASTER FORMULA METAL POLISH & SEALER GLOSS on you tube about a year ago... I was a little skeptical but bought it anyways for my rims and my bike and this stuff works great!!! I have been using it to clean my inner barrels and makes the brass look like GOLD (no joke)... I use the polish and the gloss... It is non abrasive and water based so it is safe and has not damaged any of my barrels... It also cleans and polishes in one step so if your in a rush it can be quick... I like to take my time with it but thats just me... I'm gonna tape off half of a barrel on the outside and post a pic so you can see the difference...

What does polishing the outside of the barrel do?  Functionally?

Are you using it inside the bore too?

I only did the outside so I could show the difference... Yes I do the inside... I actually take my cleaning rod and put it in my drill chuck and polish with that... Works great literally looks like gold when I'm done... The above picture does no justice of how it really looks... If you watch the video link I put up it looks like every thing the guy had out but brass instead of chrome or aluminum...

That really looks great. How is the shooting performance after using this product?

I heard/read Brasso works well too.  I haven't tried it yet, but I'll probably do this for my brass and SS barrels.

I'd love to say the performance has given me an extra 30 feet, but the truth is I clean my barrels after every use and all ways take my time to do a good job, so I have noticed no performance difference... But I have noticed that with the sealer (second product) that the barrel is not as dirty after use... After I seal it, it feels like silk...

A few years ago a member Brasso'd his KWA barrel and did a before and after comparison with FPS and accuracy.  The was no improvement and in fact the numbers where slightly worse regarding FPS if memory serves.  Though it probably wasn't statically significant.
