Hi all,

As the title says, I'm trying to take off the upper receiver parts of the KM4S Tactical for a paint respray. I've managed to take off the front cage and top rail, but do I need to take off the Delta ring to take the sides of the body off? It looks like you can do it without removing the Delta ring but the parts diagram on this site doesn't make it clear.....

To the best of my knowledge, the Upper Receiver separates from the Lower Receiver the same as all other m4 S-Systems with Split Hop-up designs.

1. Fire gun in Semi-auto a few times to set the Piston at the rest position. Make sure there is no Magazine inserted and that no bb's are in the Hop-up Unit. Do this outside and wear safety glasses.
2. Remove Lower S-System Hand-Guard from the RAS.
3. Disconnect the battery and then the Wiring Harness connections.
3. Remove rear Body Pin.
4. Swing open Upper Receiver and remove Inner Barrel.
5. Remove front Body Pin.
6. Lift off Upper Receiver from Lower Receiver.

That should do it.

Yup I've gotten that far, but I now need to separate the upper receiver from the rest of the rifle so that I can paint strip it and respray. I need to get it off and away from the front Delta ring but my question is, do I need to take off the Delta ring to do this?

Upper Receiver or Outer Barrel, or both? If you have done every step above, the Upper Receiver should separate from the Lower Receiver. The Delta Ring has nothing to do with this part of it, only removing the Outer Barrel.

I want to completely remove the upper receiver for painting. Both parts as I understand it is in 2 parts.

Just so we are clear. You have removed the lower RAS Handguard, dis-connected the wiring, removed both front and rear body pins and the upper receiver will not remove? What exactly is happening when you attempt to remove it?
