So recently I got my hands on the VFC M27 IAR rail extension. I have the rail nothing more nothing less. I was wondering if there is a way to attach the rail to my lm4. I know it has been done by gecko1, but with a jg614. Are there any ways to attach such rails onto my lm4. I expect modification, which I can handle.

I was thinking to take a VFC 416 rail adapter and attach it to the lm4 threads. Is this possible in any way other than grinding and superglue?

Thanks for any help at all!

BeachEMT was the one who actually started the LM416.

Unfortunately the VFC rail won't match the JG upper rail or the LM4 rail in terms of height or integration with the locking system. The barrel nut also wont go onto the LM4 upper without some modification to the LM4 threads and/or VFC barrel nut threads.

Is it possible? Well anything is possible but it won't be a simple install.

OK, thanks for info. Is there even a way to gather the parts without contacting vfc directly. I have searched ever where. WGC shop only has barrel nut. I legitimately only have the rail.

There are only three ways to get VFC HK416 parts that I know of: scavenge them off a VFC Hk416, try contacting VFC directly, or get lucky and find someone selling the parts (shops, ebay, forums...)

Before you start sourcing parts, I have to warn you, there is a lot of effort involved in making a VFC/WE based LM416. Nothing is drop-in. There is an extension amount of machining required to fit the parts to the KWA base. Also, the process does not follow my JG based LM416 tutorial.

I just finished a MK12 build. There are a couple ways to machine the outer barrel to accept the LM4 hop up. I bored out the back of a G&G GR25 outer barrel and fit an adaptor to seat the LM4 hop up unit in. I don't know if you want a different outer barrel to fit the 416 external accessories or not. As far as the rail height is concerned probably the easiest way is to have someone fabricate a new top rail for the receiver. Thats how I was going to do it. I have a Top Tech 416 front assembly at home waiting for me to stop being lazy and start designing the replacement top rail.
