I got this gun used today and bought some extra magazines from a local airsoft store. I am having some issues with the gun.

Issue 1:
New magazines cannot be inserted physically when the slide is open/back.
Here is a picture of the gun. A piece of the slide lock/catch is blocking the magazine from being able to be inserted.

I am not having an issue with this on the old magazine for some reason. I have tried loading BBs in the new magazine, but it cannot be inserted while the slide is open.

Which leads to:

Issue 2:
Slide catch/lock cannot be up all the way when the new magazine is inserted. I can insert a magazine if the slide is closed. Here is a picture of that.

Issue 3:
Slide will not lock on empty mag. I cannot get it to lock unless I manually press up on the slide catch/lock (The old magazine as I cannot get the slide lock/release to go up on the new magazines).

I am thinking the main cause can be that the slide lock/release is from one of the double stack ones as it seems to be too wide to fit along the channels of the magazine feed lip. Here are pictures of the slide release.

If the mag catch screw uses a flathead screwdriver the pistol is setup for the 14rd mags. If it uses a hex key its set for the 21rd mags.

I dont know if KWA changed it, thats how i was able to tell the difference. Both slide catch & mag catch have to match.
I had three 21rd slide/mag sets. One out of the three worked on both 14 & 21rd mags. I sold it :(

FWIW, I was on a waiting list & received an email (while i was surfing) the 21rd mags were back in stock.  I went to the site an ordered another three to get turned down at checkout, they were out of stock. He sold around 40 of them in minuets.
That was about six months ago. I haven't seen them since.

Good Luck!
