Hello Everyone,

I purchased two M226 magazines this last week from a local shop (SoCal), strangely though the two mags came in different packaging. Also one mag fit whereas the other did not in my 226. So I’m figured I’d ask you guys what’s up with these mags. I believe the one in the clear bag (see below) with the paper tag hanger to be a counterfeit mag.  If it is such what do I do?

The clear packaging is older KWA and is legit.  The Mylar bag is the new packaging from KWA.  Regarding why one mag doesn't fit....I can't comment at this time.

If you got it from GI, you might have one of the mags I sent back. A while ago I ordered a 226 ptp and a couple mags. After 6 months of waiting for my ptp I cancelled my order. They let me send the mags back because they were brand new with the packaging (just o-ring tested with some gas). I never had a 226 so I can't tell you if they would fit or not.

You checked to see if any body pins in the mag are stuck out? Stopping you from placing it in the mag well....
The mag looks right, there are only two types of mag; ksc/ kwa/ kwc,
and tm/ we/ kjworks/ acm.
So would think its something simple. Check for sticky out bits.
Hope this helps.

A while back there was a small run of out of spec M226 mags that would not fit into the magwell.  This issues was addressed and has not reoccurred.
